Claire felt a mix of curiosity and skepticism about this unexpected offer, but her desperation made it hard to say no. \u201cThank you so much for the ride, Mr. White.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re most welcome, it\u2019s my pleasure.\u201d Zeke quickly exited the car, eagerly opening the door for them.<\/p>\n

Charlie, on the other hand, simply rubbed his nose sheepishly, remaining quiet. He knew Zeke was seizing the opportunity to flatter him, and since he needed Zeke\u2019s help, he decided to accept the offer.<\/p>\n

As they drove, Zeke sat in the front passenger seat and struck up a casual conversation with Charlie, while the driver navigated the road.<\/p>\n

Claire listened in, feeling a growing sense of confusion inside her.<\/p>\n

Zeke White was a prominent businessman in Aurous Hill, enjoying a higher level of respect and recognition in the business community compared to Lady Wilson. Typically, someone of his stature would have a stern demeanor. Yet, in the car, Claire could sense that Zeke was trying very hard to flatter Charlie, and it was becoming increasingly obvious\u2014almost too slick.<\/p>\n

She glanced at Charlie, who maintained a composed, stoic expression, adding to the air of mystery in the situation.<\/p>\n

Normally, when an everyday person encounters a figure like Zeke White, they tend to be humble and eager to impress. In stark contrast, Charlie appeared indifferent, showing little concern for Zeke\u2019s status.<\/p>\n

Even more puzzling was the fact that Zeke had gifted Charlie a villa valued at over 100 million dollars! It felt strange and out of the ordinary!<\/p>\n

Claire had also heard that Zeke had a keen interest in metaphysics and was quite superstitious. He would pray, worship, and make offerings to the God of Wealth at home on the fifth and fifteenth days of each month. Interestingly, Charlie seemed to have some knowledge of this kind of superstition, which might explain Zeke\u2019s courteous demeanor towards him.<\/p>\n

However, Claire herself didn\u2019t buy into such beliefs.<\/p>\n

After about ten minutes, the car pulled up at the entrance of Spikeworth Corps. Once again, Zeke quickly exited the vehicle and opened the door for them.<\/p>\n

Claire quickly expressed her gratitude and followed Charlie into the company.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaster Wade, I\u2019ll be waiting for you here,\u201d Zeke called out as they walked away.<\/p>\n

Charlie nodded and replied, \u201cThanks for the lift, but you don\u2019t need to wait. I\u2019m not sure how long we\u2019ll be.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s fine. I don\u2019t have any plans for today,\u201d Zeke assured him.<\/p>\n

With a bow, he added, \u201cThe White family business has been struggling lately, and it\u2019s been worrying me. I\u2019d like to consult with you when you have the time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie smiled and said, \u201cYou were born in the year of the Rooster, right? Your zodiac sign clashes with this year\u2019s Tai Sui, which is likely the cause of your misfortunes. Try using some herbs like mugwort, caltrops, atractylodes, and Poria. Put them in a bag and take a bath with the herb-infused water to help with eczema. Once that clears up, your luck should improve. The eczema is a result of blocked internal circulation, affecting both your health and your fortune.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zeke was taken aback by Charlie\u2019s insights, his jaw nearly dropping in shock.<\/p>\n

After delivering his advice, Charlie turned to leave. Zeke slowly came to his senses and exclaimed, \u201cGenius! Master Wade, you\u2019re a true genius! You even predicted the eczema on my thigh\u2014something my wife doesn\u2019t even know!\u201d<\/p>\n

With a look of admiration, Zeke bowed respectfully to Charlie as he walked away, appearing to have made a wise choice in flattering him.<\/p>\n

Standing straight, Zeke scoffed, \u201cHuh, Graham Quinton. You were so lucky to have aligned with Master Wade, but so am I! I\u2019ll catch up to you in my own way!\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Charlie entered the lobby and guided Claire to the interview room.<\/p>\n

As Claire stepped into the room, she noticed several candidates lined up for their interviews, so she joined the queue.<\/p>\n

Charlie wandered around the hall to pass the time. Looking out the window downstairs, he couldn\u2019t help but shake his head with a wry smile at the sight of Zeke still waiting by the entrance. It seemed there was little he could do if the White family insisted on treating him like a deity.<\/p>\n
