The Throne of Thorns Novel Chapter 37

Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 37

Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 37 Summary

Paxton is furious about Larissa’s actions, seeing them as a direct threat to the futures of his sons. Vivica shares how angry she was, almost passing out from the intensity of her emotions. Paxton is determined to cut Larissa off completely if she tries to claim the Judson fortune, viewing her as a liability rather than a daughter. He insists that if she encounters problems later, it will be the responsibility of Neville and Sapphira, not the Judson family.

The plan is to quickly marry Larissa off to Haskell Palmer, who is now considered worthless, to remove her from the Judson family. Paxton orders Vivica to handle the transfer of the marriage alliance to Larissa immediately, ensuring that Honora will not marry Haskell. Vivica agrees and plans to discuss the situation with Kiernan the next day.

Meanwhile, at Starlight Media, the CEO Finley Judson is frustrated with Magnus, the head of acquisitions, for failing to secure the rights to the final novel by the famous author Field of Lari, titled “Heaven’s Will.” Despite a month of effort, Magnus has been unable to contact the elusive author, and Finley warns him that he has only one more week before he will be fired.

Magnus finally confronts Finley, explaining that acquiring the rights is not as simple as making a phone call because the novel is highly sought after by many entertainment companies. Finley responds bitterly, questioning the value of Magnus’s work and implying that he might have to take on the task himself if Magnus cannot deliver.

Threatening the futures of his sons was an unforgivable act.

“It’s absolutely true. I wish I had recorded it so you could hear for yourself. I was so furious, I nearly passed out!” Vivica exclaimed, swallowing a large gulp of water to calm the burning sensation in her throat.

Paxton’s face darkened with thought. “It’s clear she wants to erase us from her life completely. I can tolerate her attitude to some extent, but if she truly has the audacity to lay claim to the Judson fortune, I won’t hesitate to cut her off, no matter that she’s my own daughter.”

“So, when she comes to sign the agreement tonight, we’re not going to intervene?” Vivica asked cautiously.

“A daughter like her is nothing but a liability. It’s better to sever all connections. If she runs into trouble later, that will be Neville and Sapphira’s problem—not ours,” Paxton said firmly.

He was determined not to let anyone threaten the bright futures of his sons. Both were thriving in their careers, and barring any unforeseen circumstances, the entire Judson fortune would eventually be theirs. But Larissa’s sudden reappearance had thrown an unpredictable twist into how Kiernan might choose to distribute the estate.

The immediate priority was to marry her off to Haskell Palmer—now a worthless prospect—as swiftly as possible, thus removing her from the Judson family for good.

“The marriage alliance with Haskell must be transferred to Larissa. I want you to handle this immediately,” Paxton ordered Vivica with a stern tone.

Vivica nodded, understanding perfectly. “I know. There’s no way we’re letting Honora marry that cripple now. If anyone is going to marry him, it will be the true Judson heiress, Larissa. I’ll find a chance to discuss this with Kiernan tomorrow.”

Starlight Media, CEO’s Office.

Behind a large, imposing desk sat a man whose face was etched with frustration, his brow deeply furrowed.

“I gave you one task: secure the rights to the final novel by the renowned author Field of Lari, ‘Heaven’s Will.’ It’s been nearly a month, and now you tell me you can’t even get in touch with them? Do you even want to work here?” the man snapped.

Magnus, head of the acquisitions department, was drenched in sweat, his nerves fraying. “Mr. Judson, Lenora, Field of Lari’s editor, told me the author is notoriously elusive. Even she often can’t reach them. We have to wait until they decide to make contact.”

Finley’s tone was icy and unforgiving. “I don’t want to hear excuses. You have one more week. If you can’t secure the rights to ‘Heaven’s Will,’ you can start packing your things.”

After a month of relentless effort and constant criticism, Magnus finally lost his composure. “Mr. Judson, do you really think acquiring the rights to ‘Heaven’s Will’ is as simple as making a phone call?”

Finley’s eyes narrowed, cold as steel. “What did you just say?”

Knowing he was likely already fired, Magnus pushed forward, speaking his truth. “Sir, have you considered how highly sought-after this novel is? It’s Field of Lari’s last unpublished work. Every major entertainment company is competing for it. Even if we managed to contact the author, there’s no guarantee they’d sell the rights to us.”

The tension in the room lessened slightly.

Finley let out a bitter laugh. “Then what exactly am I paying you for? Do you expect me to do it myself?”
