Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 35 Summary

Larissa confronts her mother Vivica with intense anger, rejecting a ten million dollar offer that Vivica presents as a peace gesture. Larissa accuses Vivica of being shameless and cheap, making it clear that no amount of money can buy her forgiveness. The tension escalates as Larissa openly expresses her bitterness about being abandoned and unloved by Vivica, revealing deep wounds from their past.

Vivica is shocked and hurt by Larissa’s harsh words and defiant attitude. When Larissa threatens to feed her bird droppings if she returns with more nonsense, Vivica’s frustration boils over. The confrontation turns physical when Vivica grabs a wooden stake in a fit of rage, only for Larissa to disarm her effortlessly, showing her strength and determination to dominate the situation.

Larissa coldly declares her intention to destroy Vivica’s branch of the family, despite having initially planned to take over the entire Judson empire. She targets Vivica’s sons, Finley and Leopold, threatening their careers and futures as a form of revenge. Larissa’s cruelty and calculated threats leave Vivica speechless, highlighting the deep family conflict and Larissa’s thirst for retribution.

Throughout the exchange, Larissa’s emotions are a mix of bitterness, anger, and a desire for justice for the years she feels were stolen from her. Vivica, on the other hand, is overwhelmed by shock, disbelief, and fury, unable to fully grasp the extent of Larissa’s resentment and plans. The chapter ends with Larissa challenging Vivica’s sense of morality, contrasting her outrage over Larissa’s threats with the years of pain caused by Honora.

Chapter 35

Larissa slowly lowered the card, a sharp glint appearing in her narrowed eyes. “Vivica, you’re not only shameless—you’re downright cheap.”

Vivica froze, her face twisting in disbelief. “What did you just say? You called us cheap? This is ten million dollars—more than you could ever make selling your precious herbs! And you’re turning your nose up at it?”

With a sneer, Larissa flung the card back toward her mother’s face. “You honestly think ten million dollars can buy my forgiveness? Have you lost your mind?”

The rude gesture made Vivica stumble backward, her shock evident. “Larissa, how can you treat your own mother like this?”

Without hesitation, Larissa swung herself out of the hammock where she’d been lounging, grabbed a large banana leaf nearby, and began fanning it aggressively in Vivica’s direction.

“Stop that!” Vivica cried, ducking away from the flapping leaf.

Finally, Larissa tossed it aside at her feet. “If you come here spouting nonsense again, next time I’ll feed you bird droppings. Go ahead—try me.”

Still shaken, Vivica stomped on the leaf lying on the ground, frustration boiling over. “Larissa, there’s a limit to your games! You’re refusing ten million dollars? Don’t you have even a shred of gratitude?”

“I don’t want your ten million dollars,” Larissa replied coldly.

“Then what do you want? You could spend your whole life selling herbs and never see that kind of money! How can you be so ungrateful?”

Larissa smiled, but it was a cold, bitter smile. “You could hand me the entire Judson fortune, and I still wouldn’t forgive you. And don’t think I’m unaware of the truth—you always knew I was your real daughter, didn’t you?”

Vivica’s mouth went dry. How could Larissa possibly know that?

Larissa’s eyes hardened, turning icy. “But you were ashamed of me. You abandoned me to survive on my own. Since you showed me no mercy, don’t expect any kindness in return.”

“You… you have the nerve to talk about kindness? What are you planning—disowning us like some tragic heroine? Maybe I should just end this now!” Vivica’s voice shook with fury. Her gaze darted around until she spotted a wooden stake lying near a flowerbed. Without hesitation, she lunged for it.

The stake swung through the air, but Larissa caught it barehanded, yanked it from Vivica’s grip, snapped it in two, and casually tossed the pieces aside.

“I’ll tell you something,” Larissa said, her voice low and dangerous, dripping with venom. “When I came back, I never intended to acknowledge you. I came to make your lives miserable. I planned to take over the entire Judson empire, but I’ve realized everyone else in this family has some decency. So now, I’ve decided to focus on destroying just your little branch.”

Vivica was left sputtering, unable to find words. “You… you…”

“Your eldest son, Finley, runs Starlight Media. He’s finally signed a few promising talents and even turned a small profit, but he’s still nowhere near the major players in Regal City.”

“And Leopold, with his tiny home music studio. He had that one hit song, remember? It would be such a shame if some scandal broke out right now. I wonder if he’d ever recover.”

Larissa’s eyes locked onto Vivica’s. “Tell me, Vivica, what if I ruined their careers…?”

Vivica’s finger trembled as she pointed at Larissa, voice barely above a whisper. “What are you trying to do?”

Larissa tilted her head, a cruel smile playing on her lips. “Why are you so angry, Vivica? I’m only talking about destroying your sons’ futures, and you can’t handle it. But you think it’s perfectly fine that Honora stole twenty years of my life?”
