The Heart Surgeon’s Last Patient Novel Chapter 64

Night Carved Paths Into Silence by Zyrel Ash 64

Chapter 64

But then, Edward recalled seeing Madeleine in Australia; she

seemed like a different person, as if she’d learned a new trick

for playing hard to get.

So on an impulse, Edward changed his plans and came to the

amusement park to see for himself what game this woman was

playing.

“Edward, what are you thinking about?

You’ve been distracted ever since we got here.”

The pretty woman with short hair pouted, displeased.

Her name was Fiona Bell, the granddaughter of a national

furniture tycoon, and her grandfather had been subtly trying to

set them up lately, though Edward hadn’t agreed or refused.

He was never short on women; any one he took an interest in

would eventually fall for him.

That was why he was confident Madeleine was just playing

hard to get.

Chapter 64

Edward put his arm around Fiona’s and comforted her in a low

voice.

After just a few words, she immediately beamed with joy and

threw herself into Edward’s arms.

“I knew you were the best to me. Then you have to ride the

Ferris wheel with me.”

“Be good. I have some work that just came up. I’ll have

someone take you home first.”

Fiona’s smile froze.

“Didn’t we agree you’d spend the day with me?”

“My fault, my fault. It’s my bad. How about I make it up to you

double tomorrow?”

Fiona pouted. Although she was unhappy, she still said, “Alright

then. A man’s career comes first. I’ll forgive you.”

Edward chuckled and waved over the subordinate who had

been following them to take Fiona home first.

The subordinate agreed without a word, but he found it very

strange.

Chapter 64

He heard that Fiona had studied interior design since she was a

child and had even won many international design awards.

Rumor had it she was the future successor of the family

business.

Why would such a thoughtful, profound, and extremely

intelligent woman seem to lose her wits every time she saw Mr.

Carroll?

It wasn’t just Fiona; it seemed all the women around the CEO

were like that.

Even though they were shining stars in their own fields, they

became dim and dull around the CEO, as if they only shone for

him.

The subordinate thought to himself and couldn’t help but sigh

internally.

What else could you expect from their Mr. Carroll? Truly a role

model for all men.

It was cool in the lounge. The person in charge of the

amusement park came in and fussed over Madeleine, afraid

she might be uncomfortable in any way.

Chapter 64

The medical staff checked and found a small bruise on

Madeleine’s calf from the bump.

“Huh, I didn’t even notice. It doesn’t seem to hurt much.”

“It doesn’t hurt now, but it will if you touch it.” •

As Roderick spoke, he took the Herbal Bruise & Pain Relief

Ointment from the medical staff, warmed it in his palm, then

supported Madeleine’s leg with one hand and gently rubbed it

with the other.

Rubbing out the clotted blood would help it heal faster.

Madeleine felt a little awkward at first, but seeing Roderick’s

serious and focused expression, devoid of any lust, she no

longer felt embarrassed.

Kevin couldn’t be of much help on the side, so he just kept

puffing his cheeks to blow on Madeleine’s wound.

“Does it still hurt, Mommy?” .

“It doesn’t hurt anymore. Thank you, my Maddie.”

Hearing this, Roderick’s movements paused for a moment, and

he looked up at Madeleine.

Chapter 64

Madeleine immediately said to him, “Thank you too, Ricki.”

Roderick didn’t say anything, but his slightly stern face seemed

to say: Why don’t you call me Maddie?

After applying the ointment, Roderick had the ‘mother and son

rest in the lounge for a while, then stepped out to call Gerry.

“Look someone up for me.”

“Yes, Mr. Livingston. Go ahead.”

“The last name is Eleanor, and he has a son named Austin.”

In less than a minute, Gerry’s voice came through the phone.

“Found him. You must be talking about Isabela Eleanor, the

president of Origin Real Real Estate. He’s been married twice,

and his second wife’s son is named Austin.”

After Gerry finished, he asked tentatively, “Do you have any

instructions?”

The CEO definitely wouldn’t have had him look this person up

for no reason.

“Origin Real… Tell me the details.”

Chapter 64

From his tone, Gerry got the picture and gave a quick rundown

of Origin Real Real Estate’s size and market valuation.

Their business is huge. No wonder that mother and son walk

around with their noses in the air.

“But it looks like Origin Real’s been having some money

problems lately. On the surface, Isabela hasn’t made any

moves, but capital is already being moved overseas, and the ex- wife’s son and daughter, along with the younger son Austin,

have all been transferred to schools abroad.”
