The Heart Surgeon’s Last Patient Novel Chapter 62

Night Carved Paths Into Silence by Zyrel Ash 62

Chapter 62

The countdown finished. Dannie sneered, tilting her head up to

watch Madeleine make a fool of herself.

Madeleine didn’t say a word. She just held Kevin’s shoulders

and turned him around, then walked to a trash can.

On top of the trash can were several unfinished drinks left by

tourists. Madeleine casually grabbed one, turned, and in one

smooth motion, threw it on Dannie.

Hmm, Bubble Tea. A shame it wasn’t the kind with black

glutinous rice. That would’ve looked even better on her.

“Ah!!!

!!”

Dannie let out a shriek. The sticky Bubble Tea dripped down

from her hair, and the pearls clung to her designer dress. She

was a complete mess.

The crowd immediately burst into laughter.

“You crazy woman!”

Chapter 62

Dannie was trembling with rage, reaching out to grab

Madeleine’s hair.

Just then, a tall, slender figure stepped in front of Madeleine.

Roderick grabbed Dannie’s wrist with one hand, his grip so

strong it made her cry out in pain.

“Ah, it hurts, it hurts… Ouch, you, let go.”

Seeing she was no longer a threat to Madeleine, Roderick

released her, his gaze still dark and gloomy.

Dannie didn’t recognize Roderick, but seeing his resemblance

to that little bastard, she instantly guessed something.

She sneered.

“Protecting the mistress, are we?”

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. With a father like you, I

bet this little bastard will grow up rotten too!”

Dannie rubbed her reddened wrist, glaring viciously at the three

of them:

“A scumbag and a bitch–what a perfect match!”

Chapter 62

She pulled out her phone. “I’m calling the preschool right now to

have the child from a morally corrupt family like yours expelled.”

Roderick’s eyes went cold.

Morally corrupt?

The Livingston family, how were they morally corrupt?

The onlookers were now chattering excitedly among

themselves.

“Hey, is that woman really the mistress?

She doesn’t look like one.”

“What do you mean, ‘doesn’t look like one‘? I’m sure she is.

Didn’t you notice that little chubby kid knows their child?

Besides, look at the woman, she’s not even wearing a wedding

ring.”

“She really is the mistress. So shameless, even wearing

matching outfits.”

A lie told often enough becomes the truth; Madeleine was only

just now understanding what that meant.

If she didn’t step up and clarify the facts, she’d be buried by the

rumors.

She took a deep breath, walked over to link her arm with

Roderick’s, and looked up with a pitiful expression:

“Honey, she said I’m your mistress~ Do you think her husband

has so many women on the side that it’s made her paranoid?

Poor thing. She sees a loving couple like us and just assumes it’s an improper relationship.”

Then she turned and hugged Kevin.

“Sweetheart, I’m sorry Mommy put you through this.”

As soon as she said this, Dannie was stunned, and the

gossiping crowd of onlookers was dumbfounded too.

What’s going on?

Where did the fierce woman who just threw Bubble Tea on

someone go?

How did she suddenly turn into an adorable little woman!

This wasn’t the first time Madeleine had called him ‘hubby‘ today, and Roderick’s expression shifted again at her words.

Chapter 62

Madeleine sighed and continued.

“I can’t help it. Maybe I just look too young and beautiful to be the mother of a four–year–old.”

She looked up at Roderick with pleading eyes:

“Or maybe she thinks you, hubby, don’t deserve a wife as pretty

as me?

Oh, hubby, isn’t she insulting you then?”

Roderick: …

From the start until now, Madeleine’s mouth hadn’t stopped

running.

Two out of every three sentences were praising herself and

putting others down. That was so her.

The onlookers weren’t idiots; they figured it out as soon as they

heard that.

“What’s the deal? So she’s not the mistress after all.”

“You guys are just jumping on the bandwagon. Just because

she said ‘mistress, you believed her? I thought something was

off from the start. Look how much that beautiful woman and

Chapter 62

her son look alike.”

“Exactly. They clearly look like a family of three. That other woman must be jealous of them.”

“I think she’s projecting. Her husband was probably stolen by a mistress, so she’s resentful and taking it out on others.”

Dannie’s face was a nasty sight. She gritted her teeth in disbelief.

“You’re this child’s mother?

How is that possible? Didn’t you hear what my son just said? He’s never even seen you.”

Madeleine listened, her gaze falling on the little chubby boy with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile.

Perhaps because Madeleine’s gaze was too intimidating, the little chubby boy’s body trembled.

He then quickly hid behind D’annie, peeking up timidly.

“So?

Just because your son has never seen me, you doubt who I am? Ma’am, I really suggest you go to a hospital and get

yourself checked out.”
