The Heart Surgeon’s Last Patient Novel Chapter 200

Night Carved Paths Into Silence by Zyrel Ash ` 200

Chapter 200

“No.”

“Tsk, heartless.”

The lab.

“Professor Whitman, that’s wrong.”

It wasn’t until a student next to him spoke up that Adrian

snapped back to reality, realizing he had added 5ml of buffer

solution instead of 0.5ml.

He frowned and took off his goggles.

“Sorry, let’s redo this set. You guys do it.”

Even in front of his students, Adrian remained gentle and polite,

like a true gentleman.

The students looked at each other, unable to help but ask with

concern:

Chapter 200

“Professor, are you too tired? You look a little pale…”

“I didn’t sleep well last night.”

Adrian took off his gloves and pressed his temples, asking

casually, “When is Re… Eleanor’s shift?”

“Eleanor?

Didn’t she already quit? She said she told you, Professor. She

even left the group chat.”

Adrian froze.

“When did this happen?”

His voice suddenly turned a few degrees colder.

The student was startled by his tone. “Just this morning.”

Adrian didn’t say anything. He walked straight out, took his

phone from the locker, and sure enough, saw a message from

Rebecca.

[Professor Shaw, sorry for the trouble I’ve caused.]

A simple sentence, without even a decent excuse.

Chapter 200

So she’s not planning on coming back?

Not planning on seeing him again?

Did his exposing her last night push her too far?

Adrian’s grip on the phone gradually tightened, his knuckles

turning white.

After a long moment, a cold, predatory glint appeared in his

eyes behind his glasses.

His slender fingers tapped the screen a few times, and he

dialed a number he hadn’t called in a long time.

“Grandpa, there’s something I need your help with…”

After he finished speaking in a tone that allowed no argument,

the old man’s vigorous voice came through the phone: “Well,

wonders never cease. The great professor knows how to ask

for a favor.”

He huffed lightly after speaking, his tone cheerful,

“The Whitman group?

Why put pressure on them? I remember you never liked getting

involved in all this business…”

Chapter 200

“This time, it’s different.”

After Rebecca took time off, Roderick got even busier than

before. He rarely had time for regular meals.

Madeleine didn’t say anything, but she was practically glued to

her phone, constantly texting Gerry to keep an eye on him.

Gerry looked helpless.

He wanted to keep an eye on him, but when the boss got busy,

he wouldn’t even think about eating.

He took a picture of the cold dinner in his hand and sent it to

her.

[Ma’am, I’m really at my wit’s end…]

Madeleine frowned.

She left the dance studio with her phone and went straight to

the kitchen.

“Madeleine, what are you doing?”

Kirsten heard the noise and, sure enough, saw Madeleine

rummaging through the fridge.

Chapter 200

“Are you hungry? Let me make you something.”

“It’s not for me, Kirsten. I want to bring dinner to Roderick. He’s

not eating properly again.”

Hearing this, Kirsten’s eyes crinkled into a smile.

Who said she doesn’t love her husband?

She was head over heels for him.

She walked over and put on an apron, “You just have to ask me

for things like this. Go wait on the side, it’ll be ready in a

minute.”

To save time, Kirsten made a few Quick–prep dishes and put

together the bento box in no time.

Meanwhile, Madeleine insisted on helping and fried an egg in a

nearby pan.

Other than the raw material being an egg, the result… had

nothing to do with a fried egg.

Kirsten looked hesitant to put the egg in the bento box.

“Madeleine, uh, this… maybe we should skip it. Roderick might not like eggs.”

Chapter 200

“No, I remember he likes them a lot.”

Madeleine frowned, “It’s a little burnt, but it’s fine. Flip it over,

this side isn’t black.”

Kirsten: …

Oh well, he’ll just have to take his chances.

Madeleine didn’t know how to cook; in fact, she’d barely ever

set foot in a kitchen.

Growing up, her family was well–off and had a dedicated cook.

After marrying Roderick, he couldn’t bear to let her do any

housework.

But Madeleine insisted on frying an egg for Roderick with her

own hands.

Why?

Because Madeleine knew Roderick well enough and was

confident in his feelings for her.

If he knew she had cooked for him, Roderick would be so

touched and concerned that he wouldn’t dare to skip meals

anymore.

Chapter 200

Once Kirsten had the bento box ready, Madeleine went to tell

her son she was heading out.

The little guy originally wanted to go with her, but he shook his

head halfway through speaking.

“Never mind, Mom, you go. I want to stay home.”

“Are you sure you don’t want to go?”

“Yeah.”

“Alright then, Mommy will be back soon.”

That little guy, being so secretive. Maybe he was just getting

older and had his own plans.
