Night Carved Paths Into Silence by Zyrel Ash 150
Chapter 150
The waiter ran off, following Madeleine’s instructions, and
sprinted to get the asthma medication.
Fiona reacted quickly, pulling out her phone to call an
ambulance, not wasting any time.
When the manager arrived, Madeleine informed him about the
toxic chlorine gas in the bathroom caused by mixed cleaning
fluids.
The manager’s face turned pale. He immediately turned on all
the restaurant’s ventilation systems and had the cleaning staff
quickly deal with the cleaning fluids inside.
Once the situation stabilized and Madeleine confirmed the
woman’s life was not in danger, she finally turned around.
The two culprits‘ faces changed when they heard what
Madeleine said.
They didn’t know someone else was in the bathroom, and they
certainly didn’t know anything about toxic chlorine gas…
“Was that fun?”
Chapter 150
Madeleine walked toward the two women step by step, her
eyes as cold as if they were laced with poison.
Her voice wasn’t loud, but it carried a suffocating sense of
pressure.
The two women subconsciously took a step back. One of them
tried to defend herself, “I–we didn’t know what was going on
inside. It was just a joke.”
“A joke?”
။
Madeleine sneered, her eyes like shards of ice. “Your little ‘joke‘
almost killed that woman!”
Gritting her teeth, Madeleine spoke word by word, “You… are
killing someone.”
“We’re not!”
“We had no idea there was someone else inside. This… this was
just a prank.”
“Exactly. We couldn’t stand your arrogant, shameless attitude
and wanted to get back at you for Fiona, so…”
Before the words were out, a slap landed.
Chapter 150
Slap!
The crisp sound echoed down the hallway.
It was Fiona who hit her.
Her expression was grim, her eyes burning with suppressed
rage.
The woman who was hit clutched her face, her eyes wide with
disbelief.
“Fiona, you… you hit me?”
“Who gave you permission to do something like this in my
name!”
The woman’s eyes were red.
“We never thought it would turn out like this, Fiona. We just
wanted to make Madeleine trip and fall when she came out, to
teach her a lesson…”
“Shut up!”
Fiona glared, and the two women flinched, swallowing all their
excuses.
Chapter 150
As they spoke, the paramedics arrived and took away the
woman who had just been pulled back from the brink of death.
Fiona pressed her lips together, her gaze landing on Madeleine.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t know about this. I’ll have them apologize to
you.”
After hearing what Fiona said, a cold, mocking smile formed on Madeleine’s lips.
“So Fiona’s first reaction is to distance herself?
Does that mean you also think that innocent woman’s life
doesn’t matter?”
Fiona seemed not to have understood what Madeleine just
said.
She was right; that was Fiona’s first reaction.
She didn’t care if that woman lived or died; why waste time and
energy on someone who had nothing todo with her?
She just didn’t want to get blamed for it.
This way of thinking was common in their circle; elitism is just
selfishness.
Chapter 150
So she naturally assumed Madeleine was angry because she
herself had almost been hurt.
But now, it seemed that wasn’t the case.
“That’s not what I meant.”
Fiona said stubbornly, turning to glance at the two people
behind her, then looking back at Madeleine.
“I didn’t expect this to happen either. I’ll take care of the
compensation for that woman.”
After she finished, she harshly ordered the two to come over
and apologize to Madeleine.
“No need.”
Madeleine’s expression calmed.
“If apologies worked, there wouldn’t be so much regret and pain
in the world.”
The four secretaries had come over right after it happened.
They stood to the side, ready for a fight, afraid their Chase
would be bullied.
Chapter 150
But when they listened, they realized Chase was not only strong
and logical, but also had good values.
Many people in the restaurant were watching the situation, their
whispers mixed with criticism of Fiona and her two
companions.
She dug her nails into her palms, a wave of irritation washing
over her.
When had Fiona, so used to being looked up to, ever been
subjected to such doubt and cold stares?
She took a deep breath and finally said, “Since you won’t accept
an apology, then let them confess their mistakes to the police.”
Madeleine’s expression didn’t change; she said nothing.
The faces of the two women behind Fiona changed instantly.
What’s wrong with Fiona?
They were just trying to stand up for her, but not only was she
not protecting them, she was even planning to send them to
the police!
?
Chapter 150
“Fiona, we…”
Fiona shot them a cold look, stopping them from speaking
further.
This could be a big deal or a small one. If it wasn’t handled
quickly, it could blow up.
She was arrogant, but not stupid.
