Loomwood Galleries Framed Pilgrim Murals by Iris Vaughn 20
Nina, completely fed up, frowned, her voice icy cold.
“Fine, as long as you can find it.”
But Nina was certain he wouldn’t find it; the entire floor was carpeted today, a massive area, not to mention the huge crowd. The ring could be anywhere by now.
The moment she finished speaking, Nina turned and walked to Zackery, her movement sharp and final, without a sin- gle backward glance.
Sean stared blankly at her back, his heart aching unbearably.
He watched them stand together as people around them praised them for being the perfect couple.
He could barely suppress the fire of jealousy inside him; he and Nina were supposed to be the perfect match.
But in the end, he said nothing, simply getting down on the ground in front of everyone to start looking for the ring.
He had never done anything so humiliating in his twenty–plus years, but today he had to do it in front of a crowd.
The stares of the people around him felt like daggers. Sean felt their eyes on his back, his fingertips turning white from clenching them so hard.
But he still didn’t leave.
Compared to Nina, this was nothing.
When the Bronner family saw Nina return, they didn’t say anything and just continued with the wedding ceremony.
So everyone ignored Sean and the wedding continued.
The wedding ended with Nina and Zackery’s kiss.
Hearing the cheers, Sean couldn’t help but clench his fists, his heart aching as if pierced by a thousand needles.
The wedding was over. No one paid him any attention; everyone had left.
Sean was still crouching on the ground, searching for the ring, but he still hadn’t found it.
Night fell. His legs were numb from crouching for so long, and Sean stumbled forward onto his knees. When he looked up, he saw a man in a suit standing before him.
It was Zackery,
A wave of humiliation washed over him. Sean tried to stand up, but he couldn’t.

Zackery just looked at him coolly. “Fine, stay kneeling. Don’t bother getting up.

Long story short, I was being generous by not coming after you for bullying Nina in the past. Nina wants nothing to do with you, so I left you alone.
But since you came to me, don’t blame me for being rude. The next time I see you, I’ll make you regret you were ever
born.”
His tone was vicious, and he looked at Sean like a predator eyeing its prey.
With that, Zackery turned and left.
“My wife is waiting for me at home, so I’m heading back.”
Watching Zackery walk away, Sean slowly clenched his fists.
He would get Nina back. He definitely would.
Sean searched all night and finally found the two rings just before dawn.
He excitedly held up the rings and rushed to The Bronner Estate, shouting, “Nina, I found the rings! Please forgive me!”
The Bronner family had heard rumors about what Sean had done to Nina, and they despised him for being a hyp-
ocrite.
To them, Sean was now like a piece of taffy they couldn’t shake off.
Deegan couldn’t stand the sight of this creep any longer. He was about to go outside, but Helen stopped him, “Let Nina handle it herself.”
Deegan had no choice but to back down.
Nina walked out and saw the disheveled and haggard Sean, her expression turning strange.
She had never seen Sean like this.
When Sean saw her come out, he could barely hide his joy. “Nina, look! I found the ring. Can you forgive me now?”
Nina found it ridiculous, took the ring, and the next moment she threw it far away.
The Bronner Estate was on a mountainside, and with that one throw, the ring instantly tumbled down the mountain and vanished.
Nina dusted off her hands as if disgusted. “I don’t forgive you.”
Zackery leaned against the doorframe watching his wife and couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
“Nina, you’re so heartless.”
Nina glared back at him, and Zackery obediently shut up, crouching down to play with moon.
