“Dad! I’m your son too! Let me see you one last time! I know I messed up!” Chandler yelled outside, putting on a full show for the reporters.
Jeremy acted as if he hadn’t heard a thing and motioned for the lawyer to continue reading out the inheritance details.
The executives inside and the reporters outside were all stunned.
Jeremy had given everything related to the Bartons to Adriana. He hadn’t even left a single share to Justin.
Outside, Chandler and Danielle yelled and tried to force their way into the emergency room, hoping to sway public opinion.
But Jeremy remained cold and unyielding. Even at the very end, he showed no intention of letting them in.
“Mr. Barton, I’ll have security escort them away.” Philip signaled the bodyguards at the door to drive Chandler and Danielle away.
Jeremy was already drained. He wanted to spend more time speaking with Adriana, not listening to Chandler and Danielle’s shrill wailing.
Yet the two of them threw tantrums and refused to leave. With reporters right outside, they had completely abandoned any sense of dignity.
After the lawyer and notary confirmed everything belonged to Adriana, she signed each document. Then, she glanced at Justin with a hint of concern.
He might be adopted, but he had devoted everything to the Bartons for years. Adriana had assumed that even if Jeremy didn’t give him shares, he’d at least leave him something.

Adriana remained silent. Curtis had been declared dead publicly, but Justin knew he was still alive.
A marriage between her and Justin might calm things for now, but it wasn’t a permanent fix.
“Since Mr. Barton has handled the company and inheritance, let’s step out. Give him and Ms. Nicole some privacy.” Philip waved everyone out.
Once the executives left, Jeremy looked at Adriana with moist eyes. “The Bartons‘ path … won’t be easy. I’ve done all I can … to pave the road for you. From now on, you two have to walk it together…”
Adriana nodded.
“You’ve suffered so much all these years…” Jeremy gripped her hand tightly.
Adriana lowered her head as tears fell. She only shook her head and said nothing.
She’d endured all the hardship, and those who owed her would eventually pay.
Outside the emergency room, Chandler saw several executives coming out and rushed over to ask questions. But everyone already knew Justin and Adriana were going to get married, so no one cared about Chandler anymore. One by one, they ignored him and Danielle and moved to discuss funeral plans.
