She got the divorce and bolted 86

Chapter 86

“Is this kind of trash even worth filming?” Clayton teased.

He suddenly leaned closer, the corner of his lips curling up. “If you really want to study it… I can swallow my reluctance and give you some hands–on instruction tonight.”

Sienna shoved him away. “What kind of nonsense is going through your head? Didn’t you see that woman was Olive?”

Clayton raised an eyebrow. “I did. Your sister sure plays wild.”

That sounded suspiciously like an insult.

Grinding her teeth, Sienna said, “If I filmed it, I could’ve had leverage over her.”

Clayton’s expression suddenly turned serious. “Messing around with your sister over petty things is one thing, but Vincent isn’t someone to mess with. If he really gets forced out of the marriage with nothing, he wouldn’t be afraid anymore. You’ll be the first person he’ll come after.”

Sienna frowned and stubbornly retorted, “I have nothing to lose either. Worst case, we go down together. Let him come.”

Her reckless, self–destructive attitude irritated Clayton. His relaxed brows knitted slightly. “Then why were you hiding just now? Why didn’t you walk out and confront them directly?

“Secretly filming people is illegal. Do you want to be taken to the police station? You’ll ruin my reputation. We’re not divorced yet. Don’t forget that you’re still Mrs. Hale.”

Sienna was rendered speechless and shut her mouth angrily.

That was all he was ever worried about–whether she would embarrass him.

The opportunity to get leverage over Olive had slipped right through her fingers. Fuming, she sulked the whole way back and didn’t say a single word to Clayton.

The next morning, sunlight streamed through the floor–to–ceiling windows into the dining room.

Just as Sienna swallowed the last bite of her sandwich, Edna arrived on cue with a bowl of the dark herbal supplement, its bitter smell wafting through the air.

“Mrs. Hale, it’s cooled down. Time to take your medicine.”

Sienna stared at the bowl, scrunching her brows. Disgust was practically written all over her face.

Drinking this every day was no different from torture. And she had to take it twice a day, at that.

Across from her, Clayton set down his tablet, the corner of his lips lifting slightly. His tone was teasing as he asked, “Do you want me to feed you again?”

He was wearing a dark gray shirt that day, with the top two buttons casually undone, revealing a sliver of his collarbone. He looked relaxed and roguish.

Edna stood to the side, barely able to conceal her smile.

Remembering how Clayton had fed her two days ago, Sienna rejected him stiffly. “No need.”

Deep down, she was already planning to have a few prescriptions written up for him too. She had to give him a taste of his own medicine. After all, sweetness didn’t have to be shared, but bitterness absolutely had to be endured together.

Taking a deep breath, Sienna pulled out her phone and turned on the camera. Then, she pinched her nose and tilted her head. back, downing the supplement in one go.

It was as bitter as always.

She switched off the camera and sent the video to Irene for inspection. By now, the entire process was smooth and practiced.

Just as she stood up to leave, Clayton’s casual voice drifted over. “Are you stupid? Why don’t you add sugar if it’s bitter?”

Sienna dismissed it. “It’s still going to be bitter once the sweetness fades. What’s the point? I might as well not taste sweetness at all from the start.”

Hearing that, Clayton looked at her with heavy mockery. “Is your brain a one–way road? Do you think there’s only one piece of sugar? Ever thought of putting a few in your mouth at once?”

“I’m afraid of getting diabetes, Mr. Hale. Stop meddling in things that don’t concern you,” Sienna snapped. “Why are you trying to manage something as small as whether I add sugar to my supplements or not? Isn’t the company big enough to keep you busy? You’re so naggy.”

With that, she grabbed her bag and left. Her entire presence screamed, “Don’t annoy me!”

Clayton stared at her retreating figure for a long moment before letting out a short, amused scoff. “If I didn’t know better, I’d think she just drank explosives. What a temper.”

Edna also suppressed a smile and stepped forward to clear the dishes.

As of late, the couple’s arguments had become more and more entertaining. Edna would have never thought that Clayton, who was always aloof and in control, would actually be losing ground.

Not long after Sienna arrived at the film set, she ran straight into Melody in the corridor.

Melody blocked her path, smiling gently. “You and Clay attended a business gala last night, didn’t you?”

Sienna paused. Lifting her gaze, she replied coldly, “Since when do I need to report my schedule to you? Are you short- circuiting? I’m not your assistant.”

Melody’s smile didn’t falter. If anything, it grew even softer. “There’s no need to report. It’s just that Clay originally wanted me to go with him yesterday. Unfortunately, I had some scenes to shoot and couldn’t make it. Otherwise, I really would’ve liked to see it for myself. I just wanted to ask whether it was fun.”

She made it sound as though Sienna had simply been a stand–in because she couldn’t make it.

Sienna curved her lips into a matching fake smile and sighed with exaggerated regret.

“It wasn’t fun at all because you weren’t there. No one was there to be the clown. After all, the last time you fell flat on your face went viral. It’s an iconic scene everyone loved watching. When are you planning to perform again? I’ll definitely come to cheer you on.”
