She got the divorce and bolted 84

Chapter 84

Sienna tried to slam the door shut with all her might, but she was no match for Clayton. The two of them were locked in a stalemate for more than ten seconds before Sienna finally gave in and let him inside.

Hugging the clothes to her chest, she hid behind the folding screen and warned him sternly, “No peeking. I’ll really give you a good smack if you do.”

Clayton didn’t move from where he stood, his tone teasing. “Do I really need to peek? If I want to look, I usually do it openly and honestly.”

From behind the screen came the soft rustling of fabric.

Sienna was changing into a white knitted sweater and a black skirt. She quickly slipped out of the dirty dress and put on a camisole and the skirt.

Just as she was about to pull the sweater on, she heard Clayton call from outside, “Do you want me to help, clumsy girl?”

“You’re the clumsy one! I absolutely do not need your help!” she snapped.

Flustered and distracted, she grabbed the sweater and shoved it forcefully over her head, only to end up putting her head through a sleeve.

Her head got stuck in the narrow sleeve’s opening. The knitted fabric pressed over her face. She tugged hard, but the more she struggled, the tighter it became, and she found it increasingly difficult to breathe.

“You’re still not done?” Clayton urged from outside. “Are you planning to knit a new sweater in there? Even a snail changes its shell faster than you.”

Sienna didn’t respond. She tried to free herself, yanking at the sweater several times, but it wouldn’t budge. She was already drenched in sweat.

Clayton’s footsteps drew closer. “You didn’t faint from low blood sugar just changing clothes, did you? You never listen when I tell you to eat breakfast.”

“I didn’t faint…” Sienna’s face was flushed red as she finally forced out the words through clenched teeth, “Hurry up and help me.”

Clayton walked around the screen. The sight before him was irresistibly funny.

Sienna had her head stuffed into a bulging sweater sleeve, making her look exactly like a trapped silkworm.

Instead of helping right away, he drawled lazily, “What is this, a magic show? The famous head–disappearing act? I don’t think you should work as some assistant on that lousy film set anymore. I’ll help you contact a circus.”

“Stop talking nonsense!” Her muffled voice came from inside the sweater.

“I–I can’t breathe…” she continued.

Only then did Clayton reach out and carefully free her head from the sweater. “See, I told you you’re clumsy. Your brainpower is as narrow as this sleeve opening.”

Sienna was finally free. Her hair had turned into a complete mess, with several stray strands sticking up comically. Her cheeks were flushed red from lack of oxygen.

Clayton dangled the sweater in front of her. “Want me to help you put it on? This is the neckline. You’re really something. How did you even mess that up?”

Sienna snatched the sweater back and finally put it on properly this time.

“It’s all because you kept nagging outside and messed up my judgment.”

“There you go again, dumping the blame on me. You’re amazing at shifting blame,” Clayton said, reaching out to smooth her frizzy hair.

Having slipped up badly this time, Sienna had endured Clayton laughing at her so much that she had no strength left to argue back

She turned to leave.

However, she hadn’t taken more than a few steps when the lounge door was suddenly pushed open.

What came into view was a man and a woman stumbling in, kissing passionately, accompanied by suggestive sounds.

“Mmm… not here,” the woman murmured in a voice sweet enough to drip with honey.

Sienna’s eyes flew wide open in shock.

She knew that voice all too well.

“What are you afraid of?” The man chuckled softly, his voice slightly hoarse. “Everyone’s gone back to the banquet hall. You didn’t seem this shy when you were seducing me in the corridor earlier.”

Sienna sucked in a sharp breath. The moment she saw them, she instinctively grabbed Clayton’s arm and ducked onto the

balcony.

It was her first time witnessing such a scene up close.

Her heart pounded wildly with nerves.

When she looked up, she met Clayton’s smiling eyes. She wondered what he was smiling about and shot him a silent glare before suddenly realizing something–she was hiding as though she was guilty.
