She got the divorce and bolted 76
Sienna let out a dry chuckle, deliberately raising her voice. “Mom, you know what? Clayton is quite the thoughtful, gentle sweetheart nowadays.”
Irene sounded skeptical. “Don’t forget to record a video next time. I want to see proof.”
Rupert took Sienna’s hand, speaking with earnest concern. “Enna, those herbal supplements aren’t just for fertility; they’re also for your overall health. Dr. Yates said your iron levels are low. You need to replenish them! No shortcuts, understood?”
Sienna nodded obediently. “I understand, Grandpa. You ought to take care of yourself too. You have to be in tip–top condition before the surgery.”
Onstage, the chairman’s speech ended. The lights dimmed, and a graceful waltz began playing through the speakers. The spotlight slowly brightened over the dance floor.
Rupert tapped Clayton’s leg with his cane. “You two go have a dance. Let everyone see for themselves that you’re clearly a loving couple. Put those unsavory rumors to rest.”
Sienna instinctively backed away. “I don’t think that’s a good idea… My coordination is questionable. I’m not good at dancing.

Before she could finish, Clayton’s arm had already wrapped around her waist. As he pulled her straight onto the dance floor, the scorching warmth of his palm seeped through the thin fabric of her dress. With his other hand, he firmly lifted her wrist
and forced it onto his shoulder.
“Idiot, just follow my lead,” Clayton murmured against her ear.
She rolled her eyes internally. Could this jerk talk properly for once?
Her momentary distraction earned him a solid stomp on his foot.
“Was that on purpose?” He tightened his arm, drawing her close.
Sienna tilted her face up, meeting his gaze under the dazzling lights. “I’m an idiot, remember? Why bother reasoning with an
idiot?”
On the next beat, she stepped squarely on his foot again.
“This one was on purpose,” she said, a sweet smile crinkling her eyes.
Clayton gripped her lower back and dipped her in a dramatic backbend, catching her off guard. Startled, she wrapped her arms around his neck. Their noses were almost touching when he said in a low voice, “Keep messing around and I’ll kiss you right here.”
Sienna instantly fell in line.
Gradually, she fell into rhythm with him. Clayton’s lead was dominant yet gentle. Her ivory dress flared like a blooming flower, the subtle floral patterns shimmering under the spotlight.
“Watch your step,” he muttered disdainfully when she nearly misstepped. Yet, he pulled her even closer, their chests nearly touching. She could feel the steady beat of his heart.
Suddenly, he pinched her waist. “Your waist is pretty flexible.”
Sienna refused to be outdone. During a backward lean, she lightly scratched his Adam’s apple.
Under the spotlight, they looked like a perfectly matched pair. Their whispered exchanges were swallowed by the music. Around them, soft admiration rose from the crowd.
“Mr. Hale and his wife are quite the stunning couple.”

“Those rumors about their bad relationship must be false.”
“With this kind of chemistry, how could they be getting divorced?”
Sienna sighed inwardly. They were wrong–the divorce was happening.
The music came to an abrupt end, and thunderous applause erupted.
Clayton leaned in, his lips brushing softly against her earlobe as he spoke. “Not bad, Mrs. Hale.”
After a pause, he added, “But you still need more practice.”
Sienna’s lashes fluttered as her gaze fell to the ground. She said nothing.
“Practice, my ass,” she thought. “I won’t need it after this anyway.‘
