Hayden stiffened slightly when he felt the weight on his shoulder. Then, he couldn’t help but laugh.
“Hey. Your wife fell asleep,” he said to Clayton.
Clayton turned his head and frowned at the sight. He reached out to shake Sienna awake.
“Is it over already?” Sienna jolted awake and straightened up.
Clayton’s expression remained unchanged as he said sternly, “No. There’s still more than half of the performance left. Sit properly and watch.”
Sienna sighed and mumbled a rant like an old woman. “Life is so hard. At my age, I still have to suffer through this. Money is so hard to earn.”
Hayden chuckled. “You make it sound like you’re an old lady.”
Miles turned around and made a “zip it” gesture. With that, Sienna shut up. She did like to sleep anywhere and anytime, but
she still had basic manners.
Unfortunately, this stage play was far too sleep–inducing. It was like a math class, and it made her drowsy no matter how hard she tried to stay awake.
She forced herself to watch for a bit. Onstage, the plot reached the point where Paige had a huge fight with Shaun and went to confront Wynter. Their argument became heated. Then, a fire broke out, and Paige fled alone.
Clayton suddenly nudged her and asked in a low voice, “Why did Paige run away by herself? She clearly had a chance to take Wynter with her.”
Half–asleep, Sienna yawned and answered listlessly, “She was probably terrified. Plus, she was already breaking down
mentally. It’s a natural reaction for her to save herself. Besides, Wynter didn’t really treat her like a true best friend anyway. Why should she risk her life for her?”
Clayton’s gaze deepened. “Maybe she really wanted Wynter to die.”
“How would I know? Go ask the director,” Sienna said with a huff. She hadn’t expected him to actually discuss the plot with
her.
Clayton pressed, “What if it were you? What would you do?”
Sienna snorted. “If it were me, I’d let Wynter burn along with that scumbag. Neither of them is any good anyway.”
Clayton raised a brow. “You’re ruthless, aren’t you?”
Sienna ignored him. Onstage, Wynter was back to being all pretentious and giving mixed signals to Shaun. It was ridiculous and unbearable to watch.
Before long, her eyelids grew heavy again. Once again, her head tilted back onto Hayden’s shoulder.
Hayden sensed that she was genuinely out cold this time and simply let her lean on him. Clayton had just finished replying to a work message on his phone. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of the irritating scene.
Why was she leaning on Hayden again? Did he have spikes on his shoulder or something?
This time, he didn’t wake her. Instead, he gently cupped her cheek and shifted her head onto his own shoulder.
Sienna frowned slightly, but she was sleeping too deeply to resist him. In the end, her head settled on his shoulder while she remained fast asleep.
Hayden watched every move Clayton made closely. One corner of his mouth curved upward into a teasing smirk.

Clayton turned to face the front as if nothing had happened and pretended not to notice.
When the play ended and the lights came back on, the audience began to file out. Sienna, however, was still sleeping soundly against Clayton’s shoulder.
He reached out and pinched her cheek. He said with disdain, “Hey. Wake up already. You’re drooling all over my shoulder.”
Sienna woke up and instinctively wiped the corner of her mouth. There was nothing there.
Annoyed, she snapped, “You’re the one drooling.”
She even deliberately rubbed her hand on his suit jacket. “You would still drool even if you went and got the condition treated.”
Clayton chuckled softly and replied, “Then I must have gotten it from you.”
Hayden raised an eyebrow. “Are you saying it’s transmitted by kissing?”
Suddenly, Sienna asked, “Why can’t I seem to find the words I want to say?”
Hayden answered seriously, “Because you just woke up, and your brain’s all fuzzy?”
