“No!” Sienna replied firmly.
“Fine. I hope you won’t suddenly change your mind and come begging me to take you back.”
After saying that, Clayton left without giving her another glance.
“He left just like that?” Michelle poked her head out from behind the door.
Sienna leaned against the door and said expressionlessly, “Were you expecting him to beat me to a pulp before leaving?”
“Isn’t that a given?”
Michelle’s expression changed instantly. A deep frown creased her forehead as she clenched her jaw. She spoke in a rough
voice.
“You… This place will be razed to the ground if you refuse to leave with me right now! You’ll have nowhere left to hide anymore by then!”
With a smug look on her face, she flung an invisible coat over her shoulder.
Sienna chuckled with amusement. She headed into the apartment. “I’ll give you 8.6 out of ten points for that.”
“Why didn’t I get ten out of tem?” Michelle closed the door and said indignantly, “I did a perfect impersonation of him!”
Sienna raised the kitchen knife and held it neat her throat. “It’s because your cheesy acting is a bit too much for me.”
Michelle paused briefly before she hurried after Sienna into the kitchen. She chattered on incessantly.
“Of course it’s cheesy since I’m acting as the role of an arrogant, overbearing CEO! That’s what we call capturing the essence
of a role.
“I think I’m pretty good at acting. If I manage to land a role in the future, I may just win an award for the best leading actress someday. Ms. Winger, you should start treating me well now since it’ll benefit you.”
By the time Clayton had returned to Baymont Residences, Edna had tidied up the master bedroom. Still, the room felt strangely deserted.
That night, Clayton tossed and turned in bed. He had trouble falling asleep.
He had never heard of anyone packing and taking the bedsheets along when they ran away from home. He couldn’t quite get used to it since the bedsheets he was lying on didn’t have that familiar scent.
However, Clayton had never had any issues with this before. He wouldn’t lose sleep even when he had to stay at hotels during his business trips.
Early the next morning, Clayton got out of bed with dark shadows under his eyes. He seemed lost in thought as he stood facing the closet.
In the past, Sienna would pick out the suit and tie for him in advance. She would also have a matching watch and cufflinks ready for him.
Clayton simply had to put on the outfit that would make him look dashing and elegant.
After mulling over it for a few minutes, Clayton chose a dark gray suit and randomly picked a tie. He reckoned that only a certain fool would spend too much effort on a simple task like this.
Edna served breakfast at the dining table. “Mr. Hale, I’ve prepared poached eggs for your breakfast today”

Clayton took a bite and frowned slightly. “You added too much salt.”
“Would… Would you like me to remake it for you?”
“That won’t be necessary.” He put down his fork and took a sip of coffee. “The coffee’s too bitter.”
Edna was flustered. The coffee beans were purchased by Sienna. Clayton had always enjoyed drinking the coffee without adding any sugar to it. Yet, he complained that the coffee was bitter today.
Clayton only took a few bites of his breakfast before leaving for work
Rowan carried a stack of documents in his arms and entered the CEO’s office. He reported, “Mr. Hale, we’ve verified the matter regarding Mrs. Hale selling off the necklace. Three months ago…”
