Save Your Pleas: I’m With Your Best Friend Now Novel Chapter 24

Chapter 24

“Zach, I-” Juliet began.

“Stop wriggling.” Zachary lowered his head to gaze at her as her flustered form reflected in his eyes. He gently set her down on the couch.

Instead of getting up, he knelt down on one knee beside Juliet and stayed close to her. His hand was still wrapped around her waist. Juliet could feel the heat coming off his palm into her skin.

“Did you hit yourself anywhere?” Zachary’s eyes were filled with tenderness as they fixed on her.

Juliet felt like she’d been caught in an invisible web.

Her head was a little dazed at the moment. Her gaze fell onto a water droplet lingering on Zachary’s neck, right where his Adam’s apple was.

He looked really sexy right now.

Juliet was reminded of how countless female students had tried to get Juliet to pass Zachary their love confession letters to him back in school.

Zachary had a different kind of allure than Asher did. Both were famous in school for their insanely handsome looks.

Even though they were young back then, they still had a refined persona as well as attractive features. Countless young girls were seduced by these qualities, abundantly tossing themselves at these young men.

Every single one of those girls suffered the same terrible fate in the end, much like Juliet had

with Asher.

“N-No.” Juliet frantically looked away, not daring to gaze at Zachary any longer.

His entire frame hovered over her as a masculine air emanated from him. It made her feel safe,

though there was also an inexplicable sense of danger in the air.

“Are you really okay?” Zachary asked once more, his thumb gently caressing Juliet’s temple. ” Your face is so warm.”

The cold sensation of Zachary’s touch made Juliet flinch. She shrank backward as if she’d been scalded suddenly.

“I’m fine, really. I just… my blood sugar is just a little low,” Juliet mumbled.

Zachary’s gaze darkened slightly upon seeing her shifty expression. He got to his feet, widening the distance between them.

“Lie still and don’t simply move around anymore,” Zachary said in a tone that forbade any

disobedience.

Juliet had no choice but to stay put on the couch.

Zachary then quietly returned to the balcony, tending to the freshly-laundered clothes. He hung up each and every one of Juliet’s undergarments with ease. There wasn’t a hint of awkwardness in his movements whatsoever.

After doing that, Zachary brought Juliet a glass of warm water. He raised the rim to her lips and said, “Drink some water.”

“I can do it myself…”

“Be a good girl now,” Zachary said in a stern but tender tone.

Juliet then took small sips of the water from the glass while Zachary held it up for her.

After that, Zachary went to the kitchen to wash the glass before setting it back where it was. Juliet’s entire apartment was tidier under his care than it was under hers.

“I should go,” Zachary said. He stood in the foyer, turning back to Juliet with a smile on his lips. There was an innate tenderness in his eyes, which were very mesmerizing.

“Zach… Thank you so much for today.” Juliet struggled to get to her feet in order to see Zachary off.

“Stay put.” Zachary marched back into the living room and nudged her onto the couch. He then tucked a blanket around her and gently caressed her head.

“The only thing you have to do right now is to take care of your health,” he said.

Tears pricked Juliet’s eyes as she nodded. “Okay.”

Zachary then left her apartment, closing the door behind him. The house instantly fell to silence.

The faint aroma of chicken noodle soup still lingered in the air.

Juliet gazed at the clean floor and folded clothes as she lay on the couch. She then touched her belly, sighing long and hard.

Faint light streamed through the car in the underground parking lot, casting on Zachary’s half

The tender expression he’d shown to Juliet earlier was now replaced with a frosty one

Juliet was hading something very important from him.

Pent-up frustration boiled in his chest like an angry beast.

Zachary slammed his fist against the steering wheel, causing his hand to swell instantly.

“Do you still not trust me, Jules…”

Zachary raised his injured hand to his lips, gently licking the blood off his skin.

There was a perversely possessive gleam in his eyes.

“It’s okay, I’ll wait… I’ll wait until the day you’re finally mine and mine alone.”
