Chapter 13
“I’m joking.” Zachary smiled slightly and tapped Juliet lightly on the head before he glanced at his watch. “I happen to have time this afternoon.”
Juliet smiled. “Sit down, Zach. I’ll go and get some groceries.”
She did not have any food in the apartment at all.
Zachary put his jacket back on, and the two of them went downstairs together. They headed for a neighboring market.
It was the busiest time of the morning, so there was a bustling crowd and the sound of vendors hawking their wares. The smell of all kinds of food mingled together and seemed to hit them in the face. It felt full of vigor and life.
Juliet had not been to a place like that for a very long time.
During the three years that she had been married, she had not needed to cook with Agnes around.
Juliet stood in front of a stall selling vegetables and felt rather helpless as she stared at the glistening, leafy vegetables.
Zachary looked down lightly and asked, “What do you want to cook?”
“I’ll make some barbecue ribs and a salad. Is that alright?”
“Of course.”
Zachary walked ahead. He stopped in front of a stall selling pork and began talking to the owner. He seemed very comfortable. “How much are these ribs, mister? The bit in the middle would be the best.”
He cocked his head slightly to the side, as if seeking Juliet’s opinion. “Are these alright?”
Juliet looked at Zachary, who had broad shoulders and long legs. He was wearing white and looked very elegant, but he did not seem to stand out despite standing in the market. It seemed oddly harmonious instead.
It was just that he was so handsome that everyone in the market was stealing looks at him. They’re fine.”
After that, they bought potatoes, chose some tomatoes, and got vegetables.
Zachary took the lead, and Juliet trailed after him like a child with an adult. All she had to do

was to nod or shake her head.

He seemed to know everything. He could tell whether vegetables were fresh or not, and he was familiar enough with the price of the groceries to know whether they were expensive or not.
He was a tycoon who earned hundreds of millions on the stock market every minute!
Juliet followed Zachary and gazed at his erect figure. She could not describe how she felt.
He walked up to a stall selling mushrooms.
The stall owner was an enthusiastic, middle-aged woman who beamed when she saw them.” Are you a young couple here to get groceries?”
Juliet’s lips moved slightly, and she instinctively opened her mouth to explain. However, she swallowed the words on the tip of her tongue. There was no need for her to explain anything to a stranger whom she had just met.
However, her cheeks burned slightly.
Zachary was still smiling faintly. He picked up a box of mushrooms and handed it to Juliet. What do you think? Shall we buy these and make soup with them?”

He made it look so natural, as if they really were a couple who had come to get groceries together.

The middle-aged woman looked from one to the other, and her grin widened even more. Wow, your husband is so handsome! He’s also very thoughtful. He even came to get groceries with you! You’re very lucky, young lady!”
Zachary lowered his eyes and chuckled. He neither denied nor admitted it.
He merely said gently, “Madam, your mushrooms look very fresh. Give us two boxes.”
Juliet took the boxes, feeling rather dazed.
She suddenly realized that even though she had been married to Asher for three years, they’d rarely even been to a supermarket together, let alone a market.
Agnes always took care of everything at home, and their fridge was always packed with the
freshest food.
Whatever she wanted, she would just tell Agnes about it.
