PAPER VOWS Novel Chapter 20

PAPER VOWS
CHAPTER 20 (SPONSORED BY Anonymous)
ALARIC CLARK
“Why, hello there,” I stand in front of the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in GoldenRock. I saw her as I was heading to my usual spot and decided to follow her. If lucky, I could score myself a babe to take home tonight. I came to 4th Street club to get some business done, but there is nothing wrong with mixing business and pleasure. It’s one of those hitting two birds with one stone situation.
“Hi,” her angelic voice says. I can already imagine that voice calling my name tonight.
“Hey, gorgeous. My name is Alaric, but you can call me Ric.” I extend my hand to her for a handshake, but she ignores it.
“Can you please get out of my way, Mr Alaric?”
“Come on now, there is no need to call me Mr., I am not that old. Do you want to join me in the VIP session?” I ask, my eyes not able to leave the twins on her chest. Burying my face in there would make my night.
“No thanks.”
She tries to walk away, but I gently pull her back. I know these babes like playing hard to get. We both know she will end up at my house and in my bed. She can drop the act – every woman wants a slice of me.
“Where are you rushing to, gorgeous?”
She pushes my hand off her and says, “I’m not interested, leave me alone.”
I watch her walk away, my ego a little bruised. Not so many turn me down. But I know their game. They act all uninterested until they drop the act. My eyes follow her, trying to see where she is going. It seems she is rushing to the bathroom. Maybe that’s why she is so much in a hurry. We all know how women’s bladders and alcohol don’t play well together.
I walk towards the ladies’ bathroom and stand outside waiting for that lady to come out. I am getting hellos and winks as the ladies pass by. This is what I mean when I say the ladies are all over me. That one is just playing hard to get. Or maybe she was too pressed to give me a chance. I guess we will find out when she comes out.
“Hey!” I greet her when she walks out of the bathroom. She didn’t even look my way. All the ladies who came out of there at least said hi to me.
“Can I help you?”
She says that walking away. I follow her and say, “I just want to have a word with you.”
“I’m not interested; I have a man.”
I scoff. Like that has ever stopped me from doing anything I want to do. “I don’t care about your man. I want to hang out with you.”
“Do you know who my man is?”
“Am I supposed to know who your man is?” I ask her. Even if her man was here, I would have still approached her. “We are here, your man isn’t. What do you say? Do you want to join me in the VIP session?”
“I am not interested.”
I watch her walk away, unable to take my eyes off that thick behind. I bet nothing is lovelier than having her on her knees. As soon as I see where she is going, I go over to my usual spot. I greet the gents I find there – they already have cute hons keeping them company.
“Hey, Ric!” Nicholas greets me; he is my usual waiter. “The usual?”
“Yes, please.” My usual is whiskey neat. “Has Denzel arrived?”
“Yes, he is in the private session.”
“Thank you, bring my drink there,” I get off the couch I’m on, and tell the men that I’m with that I will be back.
There is a private session here where we have private meetings. I am not talking about sexual activities, but real business. I have been working with Denzel Lyon for about eight years now. He is the best man to do business with. I’m also surprised how he has managed to keep our deals hidden from his serious brother, Dante Lyon.
I have never met a serious man like Dante Lyon. I have never even seen that man’s teeth because he is always serious. I feel sorry for the woman who is going to marry him. She will live in misery – rich but in misery. I look around first to see if no one is nearby and then walk into the room.
“Ric my man!” Denzel greets. He is with a woman who looks like she is giving him a lap dance.
“Dee boy! Long time!”
“It has only been three weeks, Ric, don’t be dramatic,” he says, then looks at the babe next to him. “Come back in thirty minutes.”
The lady picks up her coat, puts it on and leaves. Walking towards where Denzel is sitting, I say, “Who is that? She is gorgeous.”
“I don’t know, I found her at the bar. She was willing come back here with me. Hit me with some good news.”
Before I can respond, there is a knock on the door, Nicholas walks in with my whiskey. I thank him and then sit with Denzel. I say to Denzel, “I got news that the shipment is arriving tonight at midnight. We should get the team ready to offload.”
“Music to my ears. What merchandise do we have this time?”
“We have the M16s, AK47 and pistols.” These are the ones that are on demand.
“That’s great, I will call Mike and tell him to get the team ready for midnight.”
I raise my glass and say, “To more business, brother!”
He clicks his glass against mine, “To more business.”
“I have a question: why do you keep your brother out of this. Do you know the money we would make with Dante and his influence on our side?”
Denzel shakes his head, “Leave my brother out of this. We are doing fine without him.”
“True, let me get back out there. I saw a very fine babe that I plan on taking home with me tonight.”
He sips on his drink and says, “Same old Alaric, don’t catch AIDS out there.”
“Come on, I am not that stupid.” I take my drink and head out, heading to where I saw that lady going. I walk towards the area and see her dancing with another woman. They seem to be having a lovely time.
“Excuse me, sir.” A man blocks my way as I am about to step into the session where that cute babe is.
“Excuse you, why the f*uck are you on my way?”
Not barging, he says, “You cannot go in there?”
“Says who? I can go everywhere I want to go. Do you know who I am?”
“You cannot bother the ladies,” the man says. Does he know who I am? I see he is applying to have his nose broken. Who the hell is he to tell me where I can go and where I cannot? I am a regular here. Even Dante Lyon knows that I am one of his best customers.
“Eyy Ric!” a man calls from behind me.
“You and I are not done. You’d better get out of my way next time I come here,” I push the man back a little before walking away. Does he know who I am?
“What’s good?” I ask the man who just called me. His face looks familiar, but I don’t remember who he is. A lot of people know me here – it’s hard to memorise who is who.
“We got you a fine babe this side. Her name is Mimi; she is the baddest there is today.”
“Do you know who I want?” I say, looking in the direction where that lady is. She didn’t even give me her name. “I want her, the one with the short jumpsuit. Can you get that one for me?”
“Sure boss,” he says, walking in the direction where that lady is. That man who stopped me stops him too. Is that lady maybe famous, and I know nothing of it? Why is no one allowed near her? We know many people have bodyguards, but no one is ever that overprotective, especially at the club.
That man walks back to me and says, “Her bodyguard won’t let me get close.”
“Who is she? Do you know her?”
He shakes his head and says, “I have never seen her in my life.”
“Go tell Nicholas to refill their drinks and tell them the drinks are from me.”
“I will do that,” he says and walks away. I can see the man talking to Nicholas. Nicholas says something back to him. I see Billy joining in on the conversation. The man points back at me, but I see Billy shaking his head before walking away.
The man walks to me and says, “Nicholas says Billy is the only one allowed to serve the ladies. Billy said he has strict instructions not to take drinks from other men to the ladies.”
“Orders from who?”
He shrugs his shoulders, “I don’t know, but they are blocking all drinks going there.”
