One Side Love Novel Chapter 7

Miles burst into my office during lunch break.

His eyes were bloodshot, his shirt untucked. “She miscarried.”

He grabbed my wrist. “Eva told me everything”

My coworkers stared from their cubicles.

Miles’ voice cracked. “She said, ‘I did it for us, Miles. I got pregnant on

purpose because I knew you’d never choose me otherwise.”

His grip tightened. “She planned it, Bianca. The app, the tests-everything.”

I pulled my hand away. “Let go of me.”

He didn’t. “I went through her purse. Found boxes dated six months ago.

The notes about my family’s money.”

The office had gone quiet. Keyboards stopped clicking.

Miles’ breathing was ragged. “She trapped me.”

I laughed. The sound surprised even me.

“You let her.”

His face darkened. “I was manipulated.”

“So was I.”

He stepped closer. “But I love you.”

The words felt empty. Hollow.

I stood up. “You hit me.”

The room seemed to hold its breath.

Miles glanced at the watching eyes. “This is private.”

“This is my workplace.”

He lowered his voice. “Come home. We can fix this.”

“No.”

His jaw clenched. “Bianca—”

“I said no.”

Something shifted in his expression. “You’re embarrassing yourself.”

“I’m done being embarrassed.”

I walked around my desk. “Get out.”

He blocked my path. “You belong with me.”

My manager appeared in the doorway. “Is there a problem?”

Miles turned on her. “This is between me and my fiancée.”

“Ex-fiancée,” I corrected.

The word hung in the air.

He grabbed my arm. “Don’t do this.”

I looked directly at my manager. “Please call security.”

Miles’ face reddened. “You’d have them throw me out?”

“Yes.”

His hand tightened painfully. “After everything—”

“After everything you did.”

For the first time, I spoke without trembling.

“You chose her. You hit me. You let her humiliate me.”

The security guard arrived. “Sir, you need to leave.”

Miles stared at me, disbelief in his eyes. “You’re choosing this?”

“I’m choosing myself.”

They escorted him out.

His voice echoed down the hall. “You’ll regret this, Bianca!”

I sat back down. My hands were steady.

My manager approached. “Bianca, we need to talk about getting you a

restraining order.”
