Married at First Sight Chapter 304

Chapter 304
Duncan’s words drained the color from Ms. Chaplin’s face.
Feeling unable to defend herself, Ms. Chaplin replied, “I’m sorry, sir. I won’t do it again.”
She then approached Liberty and said apologetically, “Ms. Hunt, I apologize for judging you based on your appearance and for insulting you. Please forgive me.”

Now that Liberty had calmed down, she responded sheepishly, “I was at fault too, Ms. Chaplin. I should have been more mindful of my tone. Please forgive me for upsetting you.”
After exchanging apologies, Ms. Chaplin inquired about when Liberty could start working.
With a job secured, Liberty beamed with joy. She said, “I can start anytime!”
“Come in tomorrow then.”
“Alright. Thank you, Ms. Chaplin. Thank you, Mr. Lewis.”
Liberty expressed her gratitude and happily left with her resume.
“Liberty,” Duncan called out to her.
She paused and turned to him with a smile. “Do you need anything, Mr. Lewis?”
“You’re starting tomorrow, right? Make sure to run five laps around the cement pavement in the garden outside before work each day. You can’t clock in until you do.” Duncan believed Liberty was quite out of shape, but he was willing to overlook that for the sake of his best friend and give Liberty a chance to work.
Not wanting his colleagues to judge her, Duncan insisted that Liberty prioritize her health and get fit.
It was also for her own benefit.
However, the smile on Liberty’s face faltered.
The CEO was asking her to jog a few laps daily before she even started working.
Judging by the size of the garden in front of the office building, one lap would be around two hundred meters. Running five laps would certainly be tiring.
“Got it…”

“Alright, Mr. Lewis. I’ll jog every day.” After today’s experience, Liberty realized she needed to stop neglecting her health. Duncan must be using work as a motivator for her to run and lose weight, knowing how much she needed her job.

Liberty didn’t think Duncan was out of line. In fact, she believed he genuinely had her best interests at heart, especially considering her brother-in-law.

“We have a cafeteria in the office building, so you can eat your meals here instead of rushing home. Just don’t use it as an excuse to overindulge,” he warned.

“You’re on probation for three months. If you still look like this by then…”

“Mr. Lewis,” Liberty interrupted, “I promise I will lose the weight in three months.”

Her weight had spiraled out of control due to overeating and a lack of exercise. She was confident that with discipline, she could get back in shape in three months by avoiding excessive eating and ensuring she got her steps in.

Duncan smirked. “I look forward to seeing the results at the end of your probation.”

He then turned to Ms. Chaplin. “Make sure to get to the office early every day and monitor her. Don’t let her inside the building unless she completes her rounds.”

Ms. Chaplin accepted the order with respect.

Liberty was left speechless. She had a history with Ms. Chaplin, and now she was assigned to oversee her exercise routine. Her chance to slack off had vanished.

“Nothing else is happening here. You’re all dismissed. Get back to work,” Duncan said, having resolved the situation for his best friend’s sister-in-law. He waved his arm for everyone to return to their tasks as he headed inside to meet his waiting client.
