Chapter 296
“Do you really think you’ll be better off if we all go down together? You’ll lose your shop and your online business. We’ll work together to give you a poor rating until you’re forced to shut down your online store.”
“Serenity, who is threatening to close your online business? Who is planning to give you bad ratings?”
Elisa arrived looking for Serenity and overheard John’s arrogant threats before even entering the shop. Known for her short temper, she quickly lost her cool.
Did they not realize that Serenity was her love guru?
Anyone who dared to threaten her love guru was crossing her as well. She would make these arrogant and shameless individuals regret being alive. Carrying boxes of desserts from Beans and Cream, Elisa dangled her car keys and walked into the shop with her chin held high. While others might not recognize Elisa, John held a senior position at one of Stone Group’s branches and had seen her a few times from afar during the company’s annual conferences, so he remembered her face.
As Elisa entered the shop, color drained from John’s face.
He was aware that he was suspended not only because netizens had tagged the headquarters, demanding his termination as he was a shameless menace to the company, but also because Elisa could not tolerate his viral tweet that diverted attention from the gossip surrounding her and Zachary, which irritated her greatly.
Everyone at York Corporation and Stone Group knew about Elisa’s infatuation with Zachary and her rather public advances toward him.
“M-Ms. Stone.”
With a forced smile, John approached her, trying to ingratiate himself like a lapdog. “What brings you here, Ms. Stone?”
Elisa shot him a disdainful look. “Who are you? Get lost. Move aside!”
John stepped aside to let Elisa pass. Still smiling, he introduced himself, saying, “Ms. Stone, I’m John Hunt, the deputy managing director of Aron PCB.”
Elisa suddenly realized who he was. “Oh, you’re John. Wait a second. Aren’t you fired? Why are you still the deputy managing director of Aron PCB? That explains your arrogance. I suppose only the shameless would engage in such shameless behavior.”
LLL
Elisa quickly pulled out her phone and called her brother. She vented as soon as he answered. “Clive, why are you keeping John Hunt, the deputy managing director of Stone Group’s subsidiary, Aron PCB? Fire him immediately.”
“So what if he’s highly skilled? Can’t we find someone equally or even more capable? Just let him go. I don’t care if you have to compensate him for his dismissal; just do it. He’s stepped on my toes, and I’m really, really angry right now. I might drive my car into a tree or a wall if you don’t get rid of him. You’ll have to buy me a new car if it crashes.”
Everyone was speechless.
This was Serenity’s firsthand experience of Elisa’s stubbornness.
WILL
It was fortunate that Elisa would only crash into a tree or wall instead of innocent pedestrians when she was angry. Otherwise, this fiery girl should never be provoked, as the consequences could be dire for many. Serenity contemplated talking some sense into Elisa as their friendship deepened. She was damaging her own car by recklessly driving it into a tree in a fit of rage. What if she lost control and hurt someone in the process? That would be catastrophic.
