Married at First Sight Chapter 1687

Relieved, Mrs. Brown helped Jessica back to bed while they talked. However, Jessica’s expression soon changed. She grabbed Mrs. Brown’s hand and, with fear in her eyes, said, “Mom, I have a stomachache.” Hearing this, Mrs. Brown immediately rushed outside and shouted, “Chelsea, call 120 right away; her stomach hurts!”
Chelsea, who was biting into an apple, leaned against the doorframe when she heard her mother’s shout. She responded, “Mom, she could complain of a stomachache eight hundred times a day. Don’t believe it. Calling 120 now would waste medical resources; let’s save it for those who truly need it.”
“Jessica just fell!” Mrs. Brown yelled. “Hurry up and call an ambulance!”
Seeing Jessica lying on the bed in pain made Chelsea realize the situation was serious, and she quickly called for an ambulance.
……
It was 4 o’clock in the afternoon. All You Can Eat was not operating as usual; the store had closed at noon. Today, however, the doors remained open all day. Liberty was accompanying Sonny while he watched cartoons in the store. The two shop assistants had already gone home, and occasionally, someone would come in wanting a meal, which prompted Liberty to cook for them. At that moment, there were no customers in the shop, Sonny was happily engrossed in his cartoons, and Liberty was making dumplings beside him.
Suddenly, the glass door swung open. Liberty looked up to see Chelsea, who hadn’t visited in a long time.
“Auntie,” Sonny called out as Chelsea entered.
Chelsea approached with a smile and hugged Sonny, saying, “You’re watching cartoons!”
Sonny nodded enthusiastically.
Chelsea set Sonny down and handed Liberty a bag of fruit she had brought.
Liberty accepted the bag and said,

“Sister, there’s no need to buy anything when you visit,” Liberty said.

Chelsea replied, “I’m coming to see my nephew, and I always want to bring something delicious for him.”

Chelsea waited for Liberty to finish putting things away before returning to the table to make dumplings. Unable to contain herself, she told Liberty, “I have some news for you. That poisonous woman, Jessica, had a miscarriage.”

Liberty looked at her in surprise.

“Jessica had a miscarriage?”

Jessica had been three months pregnant, and her pregnancy had been stable. The miscarriage rate wasn’t as high during that period. Why did she lose the baby?

Feeling Liberty’s gaze upon her, Chelsea quickly added, “Liberty, don’t look at me like that; it’s not my fault. While I may dislike her immensely and argue with her often, I would never intentionally hurt her. Besides, that child is my brother’s as well. Even if I wanted to, I wouldn’t harm her.”

Chelsea continued to explain, “She went to the bathroom and was playing on her phone. After squatting for too long, her legs went numb, and when she tried to leave, she accidentally kicked the threshold, fell, and had a miscarriage. That’s her reason, and it has nothing to do with me.”

Well, there was some connection. If she hadn’t picked on Jessica, argued with her, and even slapped her, perhaps Jessica’s mother wouldn’t have needed to help her back to her room, and maybe this tragedy wouldn’t have occurred.
