Married at First Sight Chapter 1657

Chapter 1657
Sonny immediately called Camryn again, this time raising his voice.
Camryn finally snapped out of her thoughts.
Feeling a bit flustered, she reached out to touch Sonny. Once she made contact, she smiled warmly. “Sonny, you’re here! Did you come with your mom?”
Liberty occasionally visited Spring Blossoms to purchase a few plants.
Sadly, the flowers Liberty tried to grow always ended up wilting, likely due to her lack of time for proper care. When they died, she would buy more and ask Camryn for advice on how to look after them.
“I came with Aunt Ser. Cammy, you didn’t notice that Aunt Ser and I arrived. I called your name just now, but you didn’t hear me.”
Camryn responded apologetically, “I’m sorry, Sonny. I was lost in thought and didn’t hear your aunt or your footsteps.”
Then she turned to Serenity. “Hello, Serenity! What brings you here?”
“I’m going with Zachary to a charity gala tonight, so I planned to close the store in the afternoon to prepare at home. Sonny visited me this morning, and I’m sending him back to my sister’s place. We stopped by here since your shop is on our way.”
Serenity brought over two chairs and handed one to her nephew.
After sitting down, she asked Camryn with concern, “Have you resolved your family issues?”
After Camryn fired her cousins, they caused a scene at the store. Coincidentally, Callum was present during the incident. Not only did her cousins fail to intimidate her, but they also ended up compensating Camryn over twenty thousand dollars. Although the commotion in her shop ceased, they did not let the matter die down.
Two of Camryn’s aunts continued to hound her, employing both pressure and persuasion, in an effort to bring the Chandler and Joyner brothers back to Newman.

Enterprise.

“They can’t intimidate me,” Camryn declared with determination.

She stood her ground, firmly refusing to allow them to return to Newman Enterprise.

“I’m concerned that Trenton won’t perform well on his exam,” she continued, referring to the college entrance examination scheduled for tomorrow.

Serenity had heard from Camryn that Trenton excelled academically, but Camryn kept this information from him, not wanting him to know the truth. Given his track record, Trenton should do well on the exam.

Serenity reassured her, “You mentioned your brother has always done well in school, so there’s no need to worry. If he performs as he usually does, he’ll get into the college he wants.”

Camryn smiled. “Hopefully. Once Trenton finishes the exam, I’ll finally show my hand.”

In that moment, Serenity was at a loss for words.

Since Serenity and Liberty shared the same parents, they had a close bond. In contrast, Camryn and her brother had the same mother but different fathers, which made their relationship different from the sisterly bond between Liberty and Serenity.

As Serenity couldn’t fully relate to Camryn’s situation, she felt hesitant to comment further.

Meanwhile, Sonny fidgeted in the store, unable to sit still. He glanced at the flowers several times, tempted to pick one, but he held back, remembering how Liberty had scolded him for plucking a flower from Serenity’s place the other day.

“Serenity, can I ask you something?” he finally said.

“Of course,” Serenity replied softly. “I’ll share what I know. Would you like some water? Let me pour you a glass.”

Feeling parched, Serenity stood up to fill her glass.

Serenity felt as if Camryn’s shop truly belonged to her. She didn’t require Camryn’s assistance.

“No, thank you. Serenity, I apologize for not being able to serve you well each time you visit.”

“We’re practically family. Don’t worry about the formality.”

“Aunt Ser, I want some water.”

When Sonny noticed Serenity pouring water, he also desired a drink.
