Chapter 1656
The bodyguards were aware that Jasmine was not the type to act superior. When she expressed her desire to treat them to ice cream, she was sincere. Even if Josh found out, he wouldn’t reprimand them.
Boris went to the shop Jasmine had mentioned to buy the ice cream.
After Boris left, Jasmine entered the store to wait for him, feeling excited at the prospect of enjoying ice cream soon.
Boris returned shortly after.
However, he came back empty-handed.
He handed the change to Jasmine.
“Where’s the ice cream?” Jasmine asked, confused.
Could it be that Perry’s shop had run out of ice cream? That seemed unlikely, as Jasmine always saw ice cream in the freezer there during winter.
“I bought ice cream for everyone, and they’re enjoying it now. I just came back to return the change to you. Thank you for treating us, Missus,” Boris explained.
Boris returned the change to Jasmine and expressed gratitude on behalf of the group.
Eating ice cream on a hot day felt refreshing.
As she took the change, Jasmine asked, “Did everyone get ice cream?”
“Yes, everyone got some,” he replied.
Since Jasmine had treated them, Boris would definitely buy ice cream for all his colleagues. Even if she hadn’t, he would have purchased it for them himself.
Jasmine wanted to inquire why Boris hadn’t bought one for her, given that everyone else had one.
“Thank you for the treat,” Boris said again.
Though Jasmine felt disappointed inside, she didn’t show it on her face. Instead, she smiled and replied, “You all should sit in a shaded area to avoid heat stroke. I’ll stay right here, so you don’t need to watch me.”
Boris acknowledged her with a hum.
Once outside, the bodyguards resumed watching her near the bookstore.
Jasmine let out a helpless sigh.
She muttered to herself, “Why didn’t he think to buy me ice cream? He said everyone else got some. I’m a human too.”
She placed a hand on her flat stomach, still not showing any signs of her recent pregnancy.
“I don’t even know if you’re a boy or a girl. Ever since I became pregnant with you, I’ve been unable to eat ice cream. Once you’re born, I have to indulge in more ice cream.”
Serenity was unaware that Jasmine’s strongest craving was ice cream. Jasmine intentionally treated the bodyguards to ice cream so she could enjoy it too. Unfortunately, her desire went unfulfilled.
After leaving the bookstore with her nephew, Serenity first went to Spring Blossoms.
Camryn was alone in the flower shop, as two assistants had gone out to deliver flowers to customers.
Camryn had set up a rattan chair in the shop and was lying on it, lost in thought. Serenity entered with Sonny but received no reaction from her.
If this had happened in the past, Camryn would have immediately recognized Serenity as soon as she got out of the car.
Camryn had exceptional hearing.
Even as Serenity brought Sonny to Camryn, she remained unresponsive.
“Cammy,” Sonny greeted politely.
Since Serenity and Camryn shared a close bond, and Sonny was often with Serenity, he had developed a connection with Camryn as well. Knowing Camryn was blind, he always made a point to greet her whenever he saw her.
It was then that Camryn would realize it was Sonny.
However, Camryn still did not respond.
Not receiving any reply from Camryn, Sonny looked up at Serenity. She gently said, “You might not have spoken loudly enough, so Cammy didn’t hear you.”
