Married at First Sight Chapter 1635

Chapter 1635
“You mentioned starting an office in your hometown. How did that go? Were you able to rent a space?”
Zachary shifted the conversation.
“Yes, we successfully rented an office and hired several managers. They will officially begin work next Monday,” she replied.
Zachary complimented her, saying, “You and Elisa are new to this business, yet you two are impressively efficient.”
Serenity smiled and responded, “The credit goes to Elisa. She tends to rush things, but she loves to delegate responsibilities to me, often just providing a rough outline.”
“I’ve mentioned before that Elisa lacks patience; that’s just her nature. She’s fortunate to have honest partners like you and Ms. Sox. Otherwise, she might not even realize if she were being scammed,” Grandma May observed, her keen eye for people evident.
When Elisa had feelings for Zachary, Grandma May had already warned him that she wasn’t suited to be a member of the York family.
However, even without Grandma May’s comments, he would not have been interested in Elisa.
After all, he and Clive were like rivals. It was unlikely he would fall for his adversary’s sister.
If Serenity had reunited with Mrs. Stone before their marriage, he would have refused to marry her, even if Grandma May had struck him with her cane.
But since Mrs. Stone only found Serenity post-marriage, he had to repair his relationship with Clive for Serenity’s sake.
Fortunately, the Stone family valued both Serenity and Liberty highly.
Whenever they attempted to challenge York Corporation, they always considered Serenity, ensuring their actions weren’t overly harsh. At least they left some room for negotiation.
While the two major corporations didn’t collaborate, their rivalry had softened compared to earlier times.

Elisa possesses several admirable qualities, including extensive connections and resources. However, she tends to be somewhat lazy and has an aversion to socializing. Serenity felt she was still inferior to Elisa, as Elisa started from a much more advantageous position.

Despite her dedication to studying, integrating into elite circles, and adapting to the subtleties of the business world, Serenity realized it had only been a short time, and she still had many areas to improve.

Zachary gently reassured her, saying, “You and Elisa complement each other well. You possess strengths that she lacks, and she has qualities that you don’t. The business you both invest in and start together will thrive. Seren, I believe that the three of you will emerge as significant figures in Wiltspoon’s business landscape within three to five years.”

Regardless of their backgrounds, they were destined to become rising stars in the business realm.

Serenity smiled and replied, “Thank you for your kind words. I hope they come true as well.”

Zachary wrapped his arms around her and softly kissed her lips, whispering, “As long as you don’t forget about me, it’s all good.”

“I would never neglect you. If I were to overlook someone, it certainly wouldn’t be you.”

“But remember, you promised to write me a love letter. I still haven’t received it.”

A flicker of panic crossed Serenity’s eyes; she had completely forgotten.

She had been preoccupied with her business and managing the bookstore. Additionally, she often monitored the performance of the York family’s smaller businesses while concealing her identity. This was the only way she could ensure that the store assistants and managers were taking their responsibilities seriously.

As a result, she tended to forget many promises when caught up in her busy schedule.

However, Serenity never forgot Zachary; he was always on her mind. If she failed to message him or call him one day, it wasn’t because she didn’t care.

Whenever she expressed her love for him, he would either respond like a resentful husband or complain to her sister that she prioritized making money over him. He would also torment her in bed every other day until she begged for forgiveness and promised not to neglect him or make him sulk again. Since Serenity and Elisa became business partners, she noticed that Zachary had become increasingly clingy; at times, she felt as if he were just a piece of gum. “I’ll write it once I get home tonight. I promise to give you the love letter before you head to work tomorrow.” Serenity attempted to mend the situation. Zachary gazed at her intently.
