Married at First Sight Chapter 1621

Chapter 1621
“Your mom has something to take care of. She’ll be back soon,” Duncan lied.
“We’ll wait outside for her return.”
Sonny nodded in agreement.
After carrying Sonny to the first floor, Duncan asked, “Sonny, is there any snack you’d like? I’ll buy it for you.”
“Thanks, Dunc. But Aunt Ser has plenty of snacks at her house. I don’t need anything.”
These days, Sonny spent his nights at Aunt Ser’s house, where Jim would send him to class in the morning. He only stayed with his mother when he didn’t have class.
Aunt Ser and Uncle Zak cherished him and always bought him delicious treats.
“That’s Aunt Ser’s generosity. I just want to buy you something as a gesture of kindness. Please let me do this, Sonny.”
Sonny looked at Duncan, puzzled.
He didn’t fully understand Duncan’s meaning.
Duncan didn’t elaborate but asked, “Sonny, have you considered letting me be your father?”
“I have a father.”
Duncan hesitated before responding, “I know you have a father. Everyone does, but some people have two. Would you like to have two fathers? I could be one of them, okay?”
Sonny shook his head. “Dunc, you’re my uncle. My father is my father. How could you become my father?”
He added, “One father is enough for me. I don’t want two. My mom always taught me not to be greedy and to let others have things too. Why don’t you become someone else’s father?”
Duncan was left speechless.
Sonny was smart, but unfortunately, he was too young to grasp Duncan’s intentions.
“Sonny, what I mean is that I love your mom and want to marry her. Then, we can create a new family of three, and you can call me ‘Dad.’”
“But I have a father. Do you want to marry my mom?”
Duncan chuckled and replied, “Yes. Do you agree?”
“My mom wants to be with me!” Sonny quickly asserted that his mother was his alone!
“You’re definitely with your mom, but I want to join your family. What do you think, Sonny?”
Sonny stared at Duncan in silence.
Duncan gently asked, “Sonny, do you like me?”
“I like you, but I already have a father.”
Duncan replied, “But your dad and mom are divorced.”
“Mom said Dad is still my dad even after the divorce.”
Duncan was left speechless.
“Mom. Mom is here.”
While Duncan carried him, Sonny spotted his mother from a distance. He exclaimed joyfully, “Dunc, my mom is here to pick me up! I’ll ask her if she agrees to have you in our family. If she does, I will too.”
In reality, Sonny still didn’t fully understand Duncan’s intentions.
However, Duncan recognized that Sonny was a child who could be easily misled, so it would be best for his mother to make the decision. As an adult, she wouldn’t be easily fooled.
As long as his mother agreed, he was fine with it.
He truly enjoyed playing with Duncan now.
Nevertheless, Sonny had no intention of seeing Duncan as his father. He didn’t want to be greedy since he already had one. He thought it would be better for Duncan to be someone else’s father.
Duncan halted and looked in the direction Sonny was pointing. Sure enough, he saw Liberty entering the mall.
“Sonny.”
Feeling a bit guilty, Duncan quickly reminded Sonny, “Sonny, don’t tell your mom what we just discussed, okay?”
“Why not?”
“This is our little secret—just between the two of us.”

“You shouldn’t share this with anyone, not even your mom,” he said.
“But Mom isn’t just anyone; she’s my mom,” Sonny replied.
Duncan coughed in surprise.
He tried to explain the situation to Sonny multiple times, but Sonny still seemed confused. Finally, Sonny asked, “Dunc, are you afraid to talk to my mom? Don’t worry; I can help you ask her if it’s alright.”
