Chapter 1612
“It’s on the third floor, huh? There’s plenty of food on the first floor. Do you want to grab a bite?”
Sonny shook his head.
At the moment, he wasn’t interested in eating or playing.
With Aunt Ser around, he had access to all sorts of delicious food.
Noticing Sonny’s lack of interest in shopping, Duncan led him directly to the third floor of the mall.
On the third floor, one side was devoted to a kids’ playground, while the other featured a fashion store.
Some parents would drop their children off at the playground while they shopped for shoes, allowing the kids to play. There was an entrance fee, and staff members monitored the children to ensure their safety. The kids wouldn’t leave unless they chose to stop playing.
Even if they wanted to leave, the staff wouldn’t let them exit without a parent present.
This setup provided peace of mind for parents. By leaving their children at the playground, they could shop freely without being interrupted.
This convenience attracted many parents to spend time at the mall.
Liberty purchased an entrance ticket for her son and instructed Sonny to take off his shoes and enter the playground by himself.
Duncan, feeling concerned, asked, “Will Sonny get bullied by other kids? There are a lot of them here.”
“Usually, I’m nearby to ensure Sonny isn’t bullied. The staff is here to keep an eye on things as well,” Liberty reassured him.
Duncan understood.
He watched Sonny as he entered the playground.
As soon as Sonny stepped inside, he began playing with the other children.
He looked adorable and was quite charming, addressing the other kids politely, which quickly turned many of them into his playmates.
Duncan felt a sense of relief after observing him for a while.
It appeared that Sonny had a natural talent for socializing.
skills.
“Liberty, would you like to go shopping?” Duncan asked Liberty, who was sitting next to him.
Liberty shook her head. “I don’t want to buy anything.”
Since she had no purchases in mind, she saw no point in shopping. It was tiring, so she preferred to sit and watch her son play.
“You could buy new toys, clothes, and shoes for Sonny, and some new clothes for yourself too,” Duncan urged, trying to convince Liberty to shop.
This would give him an opportunity to pay.
Liberty couldn’t help but laugh. “Sonny and I have plenty of those things. In fact, Sonny has everything he needs. Seren and Elisa keep buying him clothes, and he hasn’t even tried on many of them.”
The same went for toys.
Elisa loved taking Sonny shopping, showcasing her impressive spending power. Every time she took him out, her car would be filled to the brim with new items.
Liberty had repeatedly told her cousin not to buy so much for Sonny, as there was not enough room in the house for all the things.
However, Elisa would proudly respond, “If there’s not enough space, just get a bigger house. Now that you can afford a house on your own, why not buy a larger one along with several wardrobes? Then you’ll have enough space, won’t you?”
Liberty was left speechless.
She felt torn and contemplated Elisa’s words. ‘Sonny is your only son. Who else should you love if not Sonny?’
Just then, her phone rang.
It was an unknown number.
Liberty answered the call.
“Is this Liberty?”
As soon as she picked up, a familiar voice came through the line.
Liberty recognized it as Mrs. Lewis’s voice.
“Yes, Mrs. Lewis. This is I.”
Mrs. Lewis
In a gentle tone, she asked, “Liberty, are you staying at Glenn Apartment?”
“Yes. What’s wrong?”
Mrs. Lewis’s question left Liberty feeling a bit dazed.
Mrs. Lewis laughed and replied, “Nothing much. I was bored at home, so I drove around and happened to be near your place. I’d like to visit Sonny and you. Is now a good time?”
