Married at First Sight Chapter 1611

Chapter 1611
Liberty observed the situation with indifference.
Jessica was clearly pretending, yet Hank seemed oblivious to it.
Perhaps his concern for Jessica and her baby clouded his judgment.
Before long, Hank departed with Jessica in a car, leaving without even saying goodbye to Liberty or the others.
Both Liberty and Duncan wished Hank would leave quickly.
However, Sonny appeared disheartened.
Although Hank had promised to play with Sonny, as soon as Jessica claimed she felt unwell, Hank immediately disregarded Sonny and left with her.
“Mom,”
Sonny approached Liberty and reached out for a hug.
Liberty picked him up. Noticing his gloomy expression, she paused for a moment before explaining on Hank’s behalf.
“Sonny, Jess isn’t feeling well, and your dad is worried about her. He had to take her to the hospital for a check-up, which is why he can’t play with you. It’s not because he doesn’t want to or doesn’t love you.”
Duncan felt his lips twitch. He sensed that Hank didn’t have a deep affection for Sonny.
Hank appeared to care more for Jessica and her baby.
It was evident that Jessica was merely putting on an act.
Given that Hank had previously been a manager at his company and had witnessed all sorts of situations, how could he not recognize that she was faking it?
Ultimately, Hank prioritized Jessica above all else.
His bond with Sonny was weak.
Liberty’s kindness in explaining Hank’s actions was commendable. Most women might have criticized their ex-husband repeatedly in such a situation.
This was something Hank appreciated about Liberty.
Despite their broken relationship and divorce, Liberty refrained from speaking ill of Hank in front of their child.
This was important because, for Sonny, Hank would always be his father, regardless of his parents’ divorce.

and what Hank had done.

Hank may not have been particularly invested in Sonny’s life, but he was willing to pay child support, demonstrating a sense of responsibility as a father.

“Is it true that Dad doesn’t love me anymore?” Sonny asked.

“No, your dad still loves you.”

The sad expression on Sonny’s face faded.

Confused, he then asked, “Mom, why did Dad leave when Jess said her stomach wasn’t feeling well?”

“There’s a baby in Jess’s stomach. She said it was uncomfortable, and your dad was worried about the baby’s health, so he quickly took her to the hospital.”

Sonny, still trying to process this, simply replied, “Oh.”

Duncan patted Sonny’s head and said, “Your dad is too busy to play with you, but I have plenty of free time. Let me play with you.”

“Sure!”

Sonny’s spirits lifted immediately.

Liberty turned her gaze to Duncan. “Mr. Lewis, don’t you have any social functions to attend?”

“Not tonight.”

Duncan picked up Sonny and said to Liberty, “Come on, let’s go inside.”

Before Liberty could object, he walked into the playground with Sonny in his arms.

Liberty silently watched them enter, and after a moment, she sighed and reluctantly followed.

“Sonny, where should we play? I’m not familiar with this place; you’ll need to guide me.”

As they walked, the two chatted.

Duncan pretended to be unfamiliar with the area so that Sonny could take the lead.

Sonny felt a sense of importance as he pointed to the elevator and said, “Dunc, we’ll go to the third floor.”
