Chapter 1559
After Rosella finished speaking, she turned to look at Brenda and Amy. The Newman sisters were at a loss for words. Despite their lack of intelligence, they could tell that Rosella did not look down on Camryn’s blindness. They had heard that the elders of the York family were quite open-minded, but they had not anticipated it to this extent. Callum was an admirable man, and even his mother accepted his affection for a blind woman. Typically, mothers-in-law from wealthy families were known to be difficult.
“Is there anything else you would like to say, Mrs. Chandler and Mrs. Joyner?” Rosella inquired politely. “If not, I won’t keep you any longer, as I need to go out.” It was a clear dismissal.
Brenda quickly replied, “We don’t have anything else to discuss. Since you don’t look down on Camryn for her blindness, we won’t interfere any further. Sorry for bothering you, Mrs. York.” She then stood and gestured for Amy to rise as well.
The sisters bid farewell to Rosella and exited the grand hall, guided by Mason.
Once they were gone, Rosella’s demeanor darkened. Shortly after, Mason returned.
“Inform security that there’s no need to notify me if Mrs. Chandler and Mrs. Joyner come again. I do not wish to see them,” she instructed.
Mason responded respectfully. “Has Callum not returned home yet?”
“Not yet, but the other young masters are coming back one after another.”
Rosella nodded, picked up a magazine, flipped through a few pages, then tossed it back onto the coffee table. She took out her phone and called Callum.
Mason saw her on the phone and quietly stepped away.
Callum answered his mother’s call promptly. “Mom,” he said, somewhat surprised. His parents rarely contacted him. They did not…
You only care about him if something significant occurs.
“Zack and the others have already returned to the manor. Aren’t you coming back?”
“I won’t be returning for a while. Did something happen?”
After a brief silence, Rosella replied, “It’s nothing. It’s the holidays, and all your brothers are back to celebrate together. They heard from Mason that you weren’t back yet, so I called to find out what’s keeping you occupied.”
“I’m busy trying to catch your daughter-in-law.”
Rosella laughed and said, “If you fail to catch my daughter-in-law, don’t tell anyone you’re my son. That would be too embarrassing.”
Callum was left speechless.
“I met two people earlier.”
Callum asked, “Were they Camryn’s aunts?”
“How did you know?”
