Chapter 1545
Duncan stood still, silently watching as Liberty walked past him.
He didn’t leave for some time.
He had anticipated what would happen after confessing to Liberty.
He was also mentally prepared to wait several years for her to develop feelings for him.
Upon entering the house, Duncan caught the concerned gaze of his friend.
Zachary didn’t ask any questions since Duncan appeared fine. He simply invited him to join for breakfast.
He gave Duncan a reassuring pat on the shoulder and whispered, “It’s okay. Take it slow.”
Duncan smiled and replied, “I’m not in a rush. I have a lifetime to spend on her.”
As long as Liberty remained unmarried, he wouldn’t give up. “Sonny is a crucial part of this,” Zachary whispered.
Duncan nodded in agreement. “I know. I genuinely care for Sonny.”
He had liked Sonny even before he fell in love with Liberty, and that feeling had only deepened since then.
“Let’s go have breakfast,”
Zachary suggested, inviting his friend to join him.
Serenity and Liberty had already brought Sonny to the dining area.
Duncan felt at home whenever he was at Zachary’s place, as if he were returning to his own.
It was the weekend, followed by the holidays.
After breakfast, Zachary intended to take his wife back to the manor to keep Grandma May company.
Liberty and Sonny were coming along too.
“I’m free anyway, and I haven’t seen Grandma May in a while. I miss her a lot. I’ll join you all, Zachary.” Actually, Duncan had just seen Grandma May yesterday.
She was even laughing joyfully during Josh and Jasmine’s wedding.
Although Josh wasn’t her grandson, he was a close friend of Zachary’s. The Buchams and Yorks also had a strong bond, so she treated Josh like her own grandson.
Grandma May felt joy knowing that Josh had discovered his happiness.
As Zachary lifted Sonny into the car, he said to Duncan, “Your legs are your own—I can’t stop you if you want to leave.”
Duncan glanced at Liberty, hoping she would take his car.
However, Liberty was unaware that she was seated in the same car as her son.
Zachary and Serenity were sharing a vehicle.
Duncan considered squeezing into Liberty’s car but ultimately decided against it.
He realized he could still see Liberty and Sonny if he followed them to Wilridge Manor.
Shortly after, several cars departed from the villa and made their way to the manor.
Meanwhile, at the Newmans’ home, Camryn was surprised that Callum had arrived early in the morning to give her a ride to work.
She had planned to leave in her family’s car, but Callum’s vehicle was parked horizontally in front of the villa’s gates.
No matter how many times the driver honked, Callum remained unmoved.
“Ms. Newman, Mr. York refuses to move his car. We won’t be able to leave.”
After giving up on honking, the driver turned to speak to Camryn.
Callum exited his car.
He leaned against it with his hands in his pockets, staring at Camryn’s car, waiting for her to concede defeat.
