Elisa grinned and said, “Speak of the devil.”
“Jasmine made some pear juice. She said she’d prepare a cup for you since she thinks you’ll be back soon. You walked in just after she mentioned it. Fortunately, we weren’t discussing you behind your back.”
Serenity laughed, “Jasmine must have heard my footsteps.”
Jasmine handed the blended juice to the girls.
Serenity took the juice and approached the cashier counter. After placing the juice down, she moved the small dining table that she and Jasmine often used for meals.
The three of them gathered around the table with their glasses of juice.
“Seren, did you go to Spring Blossoms to see Ms. Newman?”
Elisa inquired, “How is she doing? She’s incredible. She managed to sue her stepfather and mother despite being blind.”
“I went to get flowers for Zachary. I didn’t see Camryn; she was absent the whole day. The store employee said she would inform Camryn to call me when she returned. Camryn hasn’t reached out, and she changed her phone number.”
After sipping her juice, Serenity sighed. “Being a sister-in-law is tough.”
She only sought out Camryn because she had made a promise to Callum.
That troublemaker had gotten into a bind and asked for her assistance.
Elisa smiled and said, “It can’t be helped. Who asked Grandma May to pick Camryn for Callum? Speaking of which, it’s Callum’s responsibility to win over his wife. Why are you running errands for him?”
“He told Camryn the truth, and she started avoiding him, so he came to me for help. I agreed because I thought I’d only need to persuade her.”
Serenity took another sip of juice.
“Camryn is blind and doesn’t have WhatsApp, so I can’t reach her that way. I couldn’t even find her after she changed her phone number. Anyway, why do you have

“Is it time for you to come over today, Elisa?”

Elisa immediately felt her cheeks flush.

Serenity was surprised that Elisa could actually blush.

“What happened? Your face is red,” she exclaimed.

Serenity quickly moved to Elisa’s side and asked curiously, “Do you have a crush on someone? Who is it? Tell us about him.”

Jasmine chimed in casually, “Who else could it be but Mr. Johnson?”

Serenity responded, “Oh, so it’s Remy. That’s wonderful! Remy is a nice guy, and you two are a good match, Elisa. However, you’re Aunt Audrey’s only daughter. She won’t be able to handle you marrying someone who lives far away. It’s not just her; your whole family would hate to see you go.”

“Now that you know, I won’t keep it a secret any longer. Aunt Audrey specifically asked me to tell Zachary to inform Remy that she can’t bear the thought of you marrying someone so far away and that he should keep his distance.”

Elisa replied, “It is a bit far, but traveling is convenient these days. It only takes two or three hours by plane.”

“Plus, Remy is working long-term in Wiltspoon. He has a house there and even bought the large villa next to my family’s, making us neighbors. It’s not far at all.”

Serenity and Jasmine exchanged knowing glances and laughed.

Elisa might not be in love with Remy yet, but it was clear she had feelings for him.

She immediately defended him when it was suggested that he lived too far away and that everyone would struggle with her leaving.

“Why are you laughing? I’m not just saying nice things about Remy; these are facts.”

Elisa playfully pinched Serenity.

“Remy confessed to me, but it wasn’t romantic at all. There were no roses or gifts—he simply said he liked me.”

Reflecting on it, she remembered how elaborate her confession to Zachary had been.

Serenity

She teased her, saying, “I’ll ask Mr. Johnson to prepare roses and gifts and confess to you once more.”
Elisa blushed again.
“Serenity, whose side are you on now?”
“Of course, I’m on your side. I care about you and wish for your happiness.”
Serenity hoped for Elisa’s happiness more than anyone else.
