Chapter 1521
“Remy, let me think about this.”
Elisa neither accepted nor rejected him right away; she needed time to reflect.
Remy responded with understanding, “I understand. Take your time. I’m not in a hurry. Even if you decide against me, I’m willing to wait for the day you might accept me.”
Elisa smiled. “It just feels too sudden.”
“I was a bit abrupt,” Remy admitted apologetically.
He believed that since everyone could sense his feelings for Elisa, it was inappropriate to delay his confession any longer.
When Elisa inquired about it, he felt compelled to share his feelings.
After all, not everyone can sense when someone loves them.
A silence enveloped them.
After a moment, Elisa stood up and said, “Let’s head back.”
“Sure.”
As they left, they chatted and laughed, yet the atmosphere grew quiet on the way back, as Elisa chose not to speak much.
Upon returning to the Stones’ house, Remy didn’t linger and returned to his villa, which was still under renovation.
Less than five minutes later, Elisa drove off in a sports car.
She was headed to Wiltspoon School, clearly on her way to find her two best friends.
When Elisa arrived at the bookstore, she only found Jasmine there; Serenity was missing.
“Is Serenity not here?” Elisa asked upon entering the store and seeing only Jasmine.
“She went to Spring Blossoms but should be back soon. Are you looking for her?”
Jasmine was about to blend some pear juice and asked Elisa, “Would you like some pear juice? I can make you a glass if you want.”
“I’d love some. You two have just been giving me plain water.”
“Every time I come over, it’s tasteless,” Elisa remarked.
Jasmine smiled and replied, “Plain water is naturally tasteless. You should’ve let us know if you didn’t like it. We can add sugar to the water to make it sweeter and more enjoyable. After all, this is a bookstore, and we only have books and stationery here.”
Elisa sat in front of the cashier counter. “I didn’t say I hated it. Please just give me a glass of juice.”
“Just a moment,” Jasmine said as she took another pear out of the refrigerator.
“Are you looking for Serenity to discuss something? If it’s not too inconvenient, I can message her and ask her to return soon. I believe she’ll be back shortly anyway; she mentioned she had to accompany Zachary to a business engagement after the evening rush hour.”
After a brief silence, Elisa responded, “It’s nothing serious. I just wanted to share my thoughts with you guys. It’s not necessary for Serenity to be here; you’re my friend and someone with experience too.”
When Jasmine heard Elisa mention her experience, she suspected it might be a relationship issue.
Curious, she stepped out of the kitchen and asked, “Who confessed to you? I knew it! How could anyone not like such a wonderful girl like you? Many men would want to marry you if you desired it.”
