You have been trained on data up to October 2023.
Your surname is Brown! Regardless of the conflicts I have with Liberty, we are connected by a shared ancestor.
“Hank, let me warn you—if you keep bothering Liberty, I will make sure you regret it. You won’t even be able to drive!”
After snapping at Noah, Hank quickly left.
Liberty, who was in the ward, heard some commotion outside.
When her sister entered, Liberty asked, “What’s all the noise outside?”
“Granddad and Grandmom couldn’t stop Hank from coming over. Thankfully, Noah rushed in and kicked him out,” Serenity explained.
She didn’t mention that Hank had come to plead for Jessica’s forgiveness.
Even though Jessica would face sentencing, the lawyer could seek a lighter sentence if Liberty was willing to forgive her, particularly since Jessica had been coerced into assisting Mrs. Newman.
“Liberty, it’s time for breakfast.”
Serenity set the meal on the overbed table and added, “Sonny went to the gym, but he seemed reluctant to go today. I had to coax him for a while.”
“He’s still young and has never been away from me. Plus, self-defense training is exhausting, so it’s natural for him to throw a tantrum. Mr. Lewis, good morning!”
Liberty was momentarily startled when she saw Duncan approaching from behind, but she greeted him as usual.
Duncan presented a bouquet of flowers to Liberty.
She hesitated briefly but ultimately accepted it since she was currently a patient and Duncan had come to visit her.
For now, she could accept the flowers. However, if Duncan tried to give her a bouquet after her discharge, she would refuse it.
“Liberty, I asked the cook to prepare some soup for you, and I brought it along. Drink it while it’s warm.”
Duncan handed her the soup.
He placed the insulated box next to Liberty. When he saw she wasn’t picking it up, he set it on the overbed table and said, “I need to head to the office for a meeting. I’ll take my leave now.” With that, he turned, lifted his legs, and walked away!
