Married at First Sight Chapter 1481

Chapter 1481
Ring, ring, ring…
Duncan’s phone rang.
It was Zachary calling.
Duncan quickly answered the call.
“Josh is inviting us to dinner tonight.”
Duncan anticipated Zachary’s question about his availability and beat him to it.
The three of them were the best of friends. With Josh no longer single and extending an invitation for dinner, Duncan would attend even if he had other commitments.
“I know, he texted me earlier.”
Zachary held his phone in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other, calling Duncan while sipping his drink.
“My wife figured you out.”
“Figured me out?”
Duncan was initially puzzled.
However, he soon realized and replied, “She figured me out? That’s good. I was wondering how to express it.”
Duncan had initially hoped to act on his feelings after coming to terms with them.
But it was Zachary who advised him to hold back.
Zachary explained that it wasn’t the right time to share his feelings with Liberty, as she was still recovering from her injuries. He urged Duncan to wait.
Given his mother’s disapproval of Liberty and Liberty’s past marriage troubles, Duncan was willing to wait a few years.
He could silently support Liberty from the sidelines. Once she achieved her goals and gained recognition, he planned to confess his feelings.
Duncan believed that their chances of being together would be much stronger then.
In addition, time would reveal a person’s true feelings.
Liberty would undoubtedly sense Duncan’s quiet support and presence.
True companionship was the deepest form of confession.
Duncan had not anticipated Serenity would see through him.
He glanced at his mother and guessed she must have visited Liberty again. While she might not have…

Liberty often made situations challenging for herself, often using sarcasm in her comments. She confided in her sister about everything, which Duncan suspected was how Serenity perceived him so easily.

“Okay, I understand,” he acknowledged. With Liberty aware of his thoughts, he felt free to express himself without restraint.

Zachary wanted to say something but hesitated. Finally, he sighed and advised, “If it doesn’t work out, don’t dwell on it.” He felt caught in a dilemma. On one hand, he wanted his close friend to find happiness; on the other, there was his sister-in-law, Serenity, whom he loved deeply, and that affection extended to Liberty as well. He genuinely hoped that Liberty could experience love a second time, even better than her first.

Zachary didn’t want feelings to turn Liberty and Duncan into strangers. Duncan remained silent, and Zachary chose not to say anything further, taking the initiative to end the call.

Afterward, he quietly finished his coffee, reflecting on how Cupid seemed to be working overtime lately, pairing people around him. Callum, Kevin, and Duncan all seemed to be embarking on their romantic journeys almost simultaneously, while only Remy and Elisa remained shy, hiding their feelings. Nevertheless, Zachary and Serenity could take their time enjoying the unfolding drama, just as others had once watched their own story play out.
