Serenity said, “Exactly. Embrace your shameless side and go to Spring Blossoms right now to offer a proper apology. Avoid saying that you’re only pursuing Camryn because she’s the wife Nana chose for you. Pursue her genuinely so she can feel your true emotions.”
“She agreed to accompany you to Jasmine’s engagement party, which indicates she has feelings for you. As long as she perceives your intentions as sincere and not just a chore, she’ll be able to accept you openly.”
Callum contemplated this and nodded. “I understand what you mean.”
“Since Camryn is blind, she is very sensitive. You need to be careful and considerate. Don’t look down on her.”
“I don’t look down on her. I never have.”
Serenity hummed in acknowledgment.
Although Callum didn’t disdain Camryn for her blindness, he had adopted the wrong mindset due to his obedience to his nana’s wishes.
“I’ll go apologize to Camryn now. If she doesn’t want to see me, I’ll hang around her store until she forgives me.”
Callum stood up to leave.
Serenity asked, “Do you need ice for your face?”
Callum touched his swollen cheek and replied, “No, it’ll take time for the swelling to go down anyway. I’ll just go like this. Camryn can’t see my face, so she won’t pity me.”
He set down the glass of water. “Thanks, Serenity. I’ll head to Spring Blossoms now. Could you help me request leave from Zachary? I’m worried he might scold me if I ask myself.”
Serenity agreed to assist him with that.
During the early stages of her relationship with Zachary, he often delegated his tasks to Callum and Josh.
Now it was time for Zachary to return the favor.
“Make sure to show more respect to women in the future!” Serenity added.
Callum nodded quickly.
He had made a mistake once and was determined not to repeat it.
“I’ll be going now,” he said.
“Go ahead. School will be out soon, and I’ll be busy,” Serenity replied, shooing Callum out of the store.
Before long, he drove away in his car.
Serenity called Zachary and smiled when he answered. “Babe, I want to request leave on someone’s behalf.”
“Did Callum come to you?” Zachary correctly guessed.
“Yes, he sought my help after making a mistake, but I can’t and don’t want to assist him. He needs to resolve it himself. However, he did ask me to request leave from you, which I can do.”
“For now, arrange for someone else to handle Callum’s work. He won’t be in the right frame of mind to go to work for a while.”
Zachary muttered something under his breath that Serenity couldn’t quite hear. She asked, “What are you mumbling about?”
“Nothing. I can give him a day or two off, but he can’t just avoid the office entirely.”
Serenity believed Callum would be able to earn Camryn’s forgiveness within a day, so she hummed and said, “Okay, I’ll let Callum know that you’re giving him two days off.”
