He was staring at her.
Callum said, “You went with me to the party last night.”
“Didn’t you force me to go, Mr. Callum? You even mentioned your sister-in-law. I went to show her and Jasmine respect, not to accompany you on purpose.”
Callum’s expression darkened.
Camryn was determined to clarify things between them and wanted to avoid any further encounters.
“Who was that man just now?” Callum asked.
He could accept that Camryn was avoiding him and wanted to establish a clear boundary. After all, it was one-sided for him to view her as a wife when she was unaware of his feelings.
When he suddenly revealed the truth, it was understandable that she would want to distance herself from him.
That said, Callum felt a pang of jealousy seeing her so close to another man. He considered her his wife, and he believed that no one but her relatives should be that close to her.
“You don’t know him anyway.”
“Camryn!”
“Mr. Callum, there’s no need to shout. That’s my personal matter, and I don’t think I owe you an explanation.”
Callum’s expression darkened again. He stared at her for a moment before gritting his teeth and asking, “Camryn, do you really believe there’s nothing between us?”
He leaned over the cashier counter, propping both hands on it, and moved his handsome face closer to hers.
They were so close that she could feel his warm breath as he spoke.
Camryn trembled but quickly straightened her back and replied calmly, “Mr. Callum, we’re just friends—normal friends.”
Callum clenched his teeth and glared at Camryn once more. As he looked into her eyes, he remembered that she couldn’t see him clearly since she was blind. It seemed pointless to glare at her.
Suddenly, Callum grabbed her shoulders again with both hands.
He grabbed her hands and pulled her closer. Camryn collided with the counter. Before she could react, he pressed his lips against hers. She was left speechless, her mind going blank. She never expected Callum to kiss her! Soon, Camryn snapped back to reality and pushed him away. However, he held her head steady instead of gripping her shoulders, preventing her escape. Callum was furious; he could no longer act like a gentleman. Whenever he was near Camryn and saw her red lips, he longed to taste them, wondering if they were as soft and sweet as he imagined. In this moment, he finally did. Initially, Callum intended to kiss Camryn as a form of punishment, but once their lips met, he instinctively craved more. The more she struggled, the more intensely he kissed her.
