Callum trailed behind his older brother like a shadow.

Zachary turned his head and asked, “If you have something to say, just say it. Stop sticking to me like glue—it’s not me you should be following.”

Why was Callum attached to him instead of Camryn?

Callum smiled and replied, “Zack, why haven’t you returned to your office yet? I need to talk to you.”

“Can’t it wait until later?”

Callum grinned in response.

Zachary shot him a glare and concluded that whatever Callum wanted to discuss was personal.

Ten minutes later, Zachary was seated at his desk and urged Callum, “Just tell me. What is it?”

“I’m a bit embarrassed,” Callum admitted. “I always think I understand love better than you, but right now, I feel flustered. It’s like I’m slapping myself in the face.”

Zachary chuckled and said, “Aren’t you all learning from me? Rule one: don’t hide your identity. Rule two: don’t seek trouble. Actually, you’ve already sought trouble. You know she can’t see, yet you asked her to send you flowers. Aren’t you worried something might happen to her on the way?”

“If something does happen, you’ll be the one left heartbroken,” he added.

Callum defended his actions. “I wasn’t looking for trouble. I know she can move around comfortably in familiar surroundings, so I wanted her to get accustomed to the route and feel at ease when she comes to see me in the future. I don’t know when I can get the genius doctor to treat her eyes, so before she regains her sight, I want her to familiarize herself with things related to me.”

“I told Camryn that she’s the candidate Nana chose for me. I convinced her to come with me to Josh’s engagement party last night, but when I went to find her just now, she wasn’t at the flower shop. She has moved into the flower shop, but her phone was off when I tried calling her.”

“I—”

I keep feeling like she’s avoiding me. It was time to come to work, but I didn’t have enough time, so I could only stop by the office first to ask you for some advice. Zack, how do you handle Serenity when a conflict arises?”

Zachary’s expression soured.

“Your sister-in-law and I have a good relationship.”

“I know that now, but wasn’t there a time when things were a bit tense between you? Nana had to live with you to mediate the situation.”

Zachary wanted to send his cousin, who had revealed his past, out of his office.

“Ms. Newman is definitely avoiding you. It’s not that there’s a conflict, but she simply can’t accept you. The problem is different, so it can’t be resolved in the same way. None of us can assist you with this, so you’ll have to handle it yourself. After all, your pursuit has just begun.”

Callum pursed his lips. “I thought she had some feelings for me. I helped her and took care of her business. She seemed very happy with me and trusted me. I was the first person she told when she got the recorder.”

“Who would have thought that after I revealed everything to her, I wouldn’t be able to see her again? I should have learned from how you lied to Serenity in the past and done the same with her for a while.”

Zachary was left speechless.

“Zack, what should I do?” Callum asked, feeling restless.

It turned out that trying to fulfill the task given to him by Nana and marrying a woman was quite troublesome.

Callum had always believed that if he wanted to marry someone, no matter who it was, they would agree without hesitation.

He only realized when Camryn started avoiding him that she did not want to marry him.

Perhaps it was because he wasn’t handsome enough.

No, it was because she couldn’t see how handsome he truly was.

“There’s nothing you can do about it.”

“Zack!”

Zachary said with a long face, “You all claim that I know the least about love. Why bother asking me? Go ask Josh when he returns from his break, or consult your sister-in-law. Seren is a woman and should understand how women think. Plus, she’s the closest to Ms. Newman.”

He was completely unfamiliar with Camryn, to the point that he couldn’t even recall her appearance. After all, he only needed to remember what Serenity looked like.
