Married at First Sight Chapter 1457

Chapter 1457
Jasmine walked Josh to the door.
His driver was waiting outside.
“You don’t need to take me any further. Go back to sleep,” Josh said, turning to Jasmine.
“I need to close the gates,” she replied.
Jasmine gently patted the dog that approached her, rubbing against her leg. It shook its head and wagged its tail.
Moments later, it returned to its corner and lay down.
Josh glanced at the dog and chuckled. “Your dog is very obedient and doesn’t bark. Zachary was terrified by it last time.”
Jasmine nodded. “Sometimes it doesn’t bark, but it’s excellent at guarding our home. Since we got it, no one has dared to climb over the wall at night. Thieves used to disable the surveillance camera above my fence and jump over to get in.”
Her parents were light sleepers and would hear movements outside, allowing the thieves to enter but forcing them to flee without even managing to pick the lock on the front door.
Since getting the dog, their surveillance camera has remained intact.
Now, Jasmine’s family no longer feared thieves. Everyone was aware that her fiancé was Josh Bucham. The Buchams maintained a low yet powerful presence in Wiltspoon. Who would dare steal from Jasmine’s family? The Buchams could easily turn things upside down in seconds.
As much as Josh hesitated, he eventually got into the car. Jasmine stood at the entrance, watching the driver start the vehicle before she closed the gates and went back inside.
The night remained quiet afterward.
The following day, Serenity visited her sister at the hospital as usual.
“Seren, I’m fine now, and Mrs. Lane is taking care of me. You don’t need to be here every day. Just do what you need to do,” Liberty said after Serenity placed the insulated lunch box down.
She was already…

Liberty was preoccupied with her business at All You Can Eat. After her injury, two of her employees visited her in the hospital. Trusting them, she handed one of them the store keys so they could open for business as usual. She had asked Serenity to check in, and since there were regulars and returning customers, the business seemed to be doing well.

Despite this, Liberty felt anxious. She was eager to recover quickly so she could start earning money again. Jasmine, who was busy obtaining her marriage license that day, would be unable to return to the store later.

“Our bookstore hasn’t been open for a while,” Serenity thought. Now that her sister was recovering well and being cared for by Mrs. Lane, Serenity felt more at ease. However, she worried that if she didn’t return to the store soon, people might assume she planned to close it down and settle into a domestic life. Mr. Charles might lose his bet with his friends, especially since he had won quite a bit last time.

“Sonny went to the gym?” Serenity asked.

“Yeah, Jim sent him there,” came the reply.

Serenity took out her phone and said, “I’ll call Jim and ask him to send Sonny to my store after his class so I can have some company.” After all, Sonny was still young and would likely be bored spending every day in the hospital.

Liberty hummed in agreement. “Jasmine went to get her marriage license today?” she asked with a smile. “Her engagement party last night must have been lively, right?”

“It was indeed. Many people showed up. Liberty, you have to get better soon; you must attend her wedding. Jasmine also said you have to be there, and Sonny will be her flower boy.”

Liberty smiled. “Of course! I’ll be able to jump and dance by the time her wedding comes around.”

“Seren, you really should go and open your store. Hurry up and go. Don’t worry about me.” Under the repeated encouragement, Serenity felt compelled to leave.

With her sister’s encouragement, Serenity was finally able to leave the hospital and drive to Wiltspoon School. Meanwhile, at York Corporation…
