When she saw Zachary and Serenity being affectionate, all she felt was admiration for them; there wasn’t a hint of jealousy. She had truly moved on from Zachary. However, not everyone could let go of their past relationships as easily as Elisa did.
“Cece is also here tonight. I spotted her earlier and said hello, but her mom quickly called her away,” she mentioned.
Elisa scanned the crowd, hoping to find her best friend. With so many guests present, she had no idea where everyone was seated and couldn’t locate her friend.
Remy glanced at Elisa, wanting to ask her what she thought of him, but he held back. It wasn’t the right time yet. Though Elisa had genuinely gotten over Zachary, the Stones still treated Remy like a thief. Every time he shamelessly visited the Stones or took food from them, Mrs. Stone’s expression turned serious.
The Stones looked down on him for not being a local from Wiltspoon. He wasn’t in a hurry to pursue a relationship with Elisa. If she fell in love with him, he would have a much better chance of success.
“Elisa, you’re quite bold in expressing your feelings. I admire girls like you,” he said.
Elisa laughed and replied, “Thank you! I know I have a great personality. Those who dislike and speak ill of me are simply jealous.”
“That’s right. They’re envious of you,” he agreed.
Elisa certainly possessed admirable qualities.
It was now time for a toast to the engaged couples on stage. As their matchmakers, Zachary and his wife returned to their seats. Coincidentally, Zachary was seated with the four members of the Queens, and the head of the Buchams along with Kevin were at the same table.
Zachary had invited Kevin to sit with them. Kevin was well aware that his brother and sister-in-law had noticed…
Hayden has been with his partner ever since his grandmother selected Hayden for him. Since it was uncommon for Hayden to visit Wiltspoon, his brother would surely make arrangements for them to spend time together. Currently, Kevin was sitting right next to Hayden.
“Mr. Queen.”
