Married at First Sight Chapter 1420

Chapter 1420
“Thank you,” Camryn said to Serenity.
“Serenity,” Callum greeted.
Serenity hummed as she helped Camryn settle into a chair.
Callum placed the fruit basket and bouquet on the bedside table and said warmly, “Liberty, these are from Ms. Newman. We wish you a speedy recovery.”
Liberty expressed her gratitude.
While she did not know Camryn well, she was aware that her sister and Camryn had a good relationship. Her sister had informed her that Camryn was the wife chosen for Callum by his grandmother. Judging by Callum’s demeanor toward Camryn, it seemed he had accepted his grandmother’s choice.
“Liberty.”
Camryn turned to face Liberty.
“I’m sorry.”
She offered her apology.
“Why are you apologizing to me, Ms. Newman?” Liberty’s voice was slightly weak. After the anesthesia wore off, the pain from her wounds and surgical incisions left her pale and unable to raise her voice.
Camryn replied, guilt evident in her tone, “This all started because of me. Serenity helped me, which caused my mother to hold a grudge against her. As a result, my mother… She has been arrested and will face legal consequences. However, as her family member, I feel it’s my responsibility to come and apologize to you.”
She stood up and said sincerely, “I’m truly sorry, Liberty!”
“Ms. Newman, I accept your apology. Please don’t blame yourself. This isn’t your fault, nor is it Serenity’s. It’s those people who were out of control.”
Although Liberty did not know the full details of the incident, she pieced it together once Camryn came to apologize.
Camryn continued to feel guilty.
Her mother’s resentment toward Serenity stemmed from the latter’s assistance.
Serenity comforted Camryn before asking, “How is your family doing now?”
Both Mrs.

Newman and Carrie were arrested. Following a lawsuit from Serenity, Carrie received a lighter sentence than Mrs. Newman. While Mrs. Newman was determined to save her daughter, her impatience and ruthlessness ultimately led to her own arrest. She believed she could manipulate the men her godfather had left behind. However, her arrogance resulted in jail time, a common fate for gangsters.

“My uncle rushed back last night, but there was nothing he could do. He can only hire the best lawyer for my mom, yet I doubt it will make a difference. There are limits to what he can evade, and I believe he’ll soon join his wife and daughter in prison,” she remarked.

Camryn discussed the situation with Callum and decided to turn over the recorder to the police, reporting her mother and stepfather for plotting to kill her father. With so many witnesses to her mother’s crime, now was the ideal time to act. If she filed a report, the police would surely investigate.

Although she couldn’t gather evidence herself at the moment, the police would be able to assist her. Callum offered his unwavering support, assuring her he would stand by her no matter what. Camryn was deeply touched. Though their friendship was still developing, Callum’s readiness to help her unconditionally showed the values instilled in him by his family—the Yorks, who had raised him to be a principled man.

“Evil will never triumph over righteousness. As long as they’ve committed a crime, the truth will come out,” he said confidently.

Serenity squeezed Camryn’s hand. “I’m rooting for you!” she encouraged. They both understood the deeper meaning behind each other’s words.

Camryn replied gratefully, “Thank you.”

“Serenity, I truly appreciate it. I regret involving you; it was my mistake. I feel guilty whenever I reflect on it. I sincerely apologize.”
“If you ever need assistance in the future, please reach out to Callum. He will help you.”
