Married at First Sight Chapter 1416

Chapter 1416
Upon returning to the Lewis residence, Mrs. Lewis hesitated to wake her son. However, since she could no longer carry him as she did in his childhood, she had no choice but to rouse him.
“Duncan, we’re home. Wake up,” she gently urged.
After a few nudges from his mother, Duncan finally stirred awake.
Still a bit groggy, he blinked at her for a moment before fully regaining his senses and stepping out of the car.
Lily had just returned from outside, driving a car lent to her by Mrs. Lewis.
“Mrs. Lewis, Duncan,” Lily greeted as she exited the vehicle.
Having gotten along well at the Marshall family’s banquet, she believed it marked the beginning of a positive relationship with Duncan, prompting her to be more friendly towards him.
“Lily, where have you been?”
Mrs. Lewis beamed at Lily, genuinely fond of her and hoping she would become her youngest daughter-in-law.
Her best friend shared the same sentiment, and the elders from both families were eager for this outcome.
Mrs. Lewis simply couldn’t fathom why her son wasn’t interested in Lily, despite her being superior to Liberty in every aspect.
What was wrong with her youngest son? He shunned all the desirable young women in their social circle and opted for a divorced woman instead!
If Liberty were allowed to marry into the Lewis family, it would turn them into a laughingstock.
It would be a disgrace to the many young ladies from affluent families.
“I went shopping and brought back a lot of things,” Lily replied.
She got along well with everyone in the Lewis family.
Duncan’s little nephews adored Lily and privately asked their mother if Lily would be his future wife.
As she spoke, Lily unloaded clothes, cosmetics, and other items from the car, calling out, “Duncan, help me with this.”

“Help me with the bags. I bought several sets of clothes for you. Take a look later and see if you like them. The sizes should be accurate since I asked Mrs. Lewis for them.”

Duncan had walked several feet away when Lily called out to him. Mrs. Lewis approached to bring him back and urged him to assist Lily with the bags.

Duncan glanced at the items Lily had purchased, noticing numerous bags of varying sizes.

“I’ll send someone to help you.”

Instead of helping Lily, Duncan turned around and walked away again. Once he entered the house, servants soon came out to assist Lily with the bags.

Mrs. Lewis was infuriated by his behavior.

Although Lily felt a bit embarrassed, she remained silent and quickly regained her composure.

“Lily, don’t let that boy’s actions bother you. He deserves a good beating,” Mrs. Lewis reassured her.

“I’m fine, Mrs. Lewis. Duncan went to get someone to help me carry the bags, and I’m happy with that,” Lily replied with a hint of resignation.

“That brat is going to drive me crazy. Lily, you need to work harder and defeat that divorced woman!” Mrs. Lewis urged.
