Chapter 1363
Zachary’s personal car arrived at the villa.
He could hear Sonny crying even before he stepped out of the car.
Once the vehicle was parked, Zachary exited and quickly walked over to Serenity.
Serenity and her sister were trying to calm Sonny down. Upon seeing Zachary, Serenity said to Sonny, “Your uncle is here! He’s the best and can help fix your bike.”
As he tinkered with the bicycle, Duncan chimed in, “Don’t worry, Sonny. I can fix your bike. You don’t need to bother your uncle.”
The issue with the bike was minor; it had simply been overturned, making it an easy fix.
As Zachary approached, Sonny reached out for his uncle. Once Zachary picked him up, Sonny cried, “Uncle Zack, my bicycle is broken. Can you fix it?”
Zachary signaled for Serenity to bring him a tissue.
Serenity quickly grabbed a tissue and handed it to him. Zachary wiped away Sonny’s tears and gently said, “Duncan is repairing your bike right now. Don’t worry; it’s just a small problem. Your bicycle will be fine. You’re a big boy, and you can’t cry over every little issue.”
“As men, we should shed blood, not tears. Do you understand?”
Sonny whimpered, “But I feel hurt and want to cry.”
Zachary asked affectionately, “What makes you feel hurt? Is it because your bike is broken? Did someone break it?”
“No, I let go and the bike fell over.”
“So it was your own doing. Why feel hurt? The bike just tipped over. Remember not to make the same mistake again. The dent is a minor issue. We adults can fix it for you. Even if we can’t, you shouldn’t cry.”
“If we can’t fix it ourselves, we can always call a specialist. They have the right tools and skills. However, if the bicycle is beyond repair, we…”
“You can just get a new one. There’s no need to cry. When we encounter problems, we should focus on finding solutions instead of crying. Crying doesn’t resolve anything; it only makes people perceive you as weak when faced with challenges,” he said.
Serenity responded, “Babe, that’s a lot for Sonny to process.”
“Nevertheless, I still need to tell him. One day he will understand,” he insisted.
Liberty agreed with her brother-in-law, as she believed in teaching her son the same principles. She felt that education should begin early and take place at home, without pausing just because they are young.
“Alright, Sonny. Your bicycle is fixed,” Duncan announced with a smile after reassembling the bike.
Sonny tilted his head to look at his bicycle, which appeared as good as new. He slipped out of Zachary’s arms, approached his bike, and beamed with joy. It was truly repaired.
“Thank you, Dunc! You’re the best! You’re even better than Dad!” Sonny exclaimed, expressing his gratitude and emphasizing that Duncan surpassed his father in skills.
His dad couldn’t even assemble Lego bricks, while Duncan could both build with them and fix his bike.
With a gentle smile, Duncan reached out to pat Sonny’s head and said confidently, “I am better than your dad.” Hank was no match for him.
“Uncle Zack, I can ride a bike! I’ll show you,” Sonny declared, eager to demonstrate his skills.
“Okay, show me,” Zachary encouraged warmly.
Sonny wheeled his bicycle to an open area and rode off, with the adults watching him. However, he didn’t go far before returning to their side.
Zachary lifted Sonny off the bike and praised him, “You’re amazing, Sonny! Do you want to learn how to ride it better?”
“I do!” Sonny replied eagerly.
