Married at First Sight Chapter 1362

Chapter 1362
Duncan was left speechless.
“Do you really believe that Lily and I are a good match? Don’t you think she’s interested in my position and wealth?”
“Lily’s family owns a large business, and she’s the vice president of that company. I doubt she’s after your money. You have status, but so does she. It’s hard to believe she’s pursuing you for your wealth and position. Together, you would only create a union of power and wealth.”
Liberty looked at Duncan as if he had lost his mind. That question came as an unexpected shock.
Mrs. Lewis was a proud woman with high standards. The girl she chose for Duncan must be truly exceptional.
“I mean, I could be the best choice among all the men Lily knows. That’s why she might want to be with me—not because she has feelings for me. I can’t believe she isn’t scared or disgusted by the scar on my face.”
As she focused on his face, Liberty smiled and replied, “Once you fall in love with Ms. Harmon, you’ll find a way to get cosmetic surgery to remove that scar before she even asks.”
Duncan responded, “Liberty, please don’t say ‘wobble’… I’m not a penguin.”
Liberty burst into laughter.
She thought Duncan had built walls around himself and hadn’t opened up to women. He seemed cautious, suspicious even of someone like Ms. Harmon, who was both an heiress and a career woman.
It seemed likely that his distrust towards women was the reason for his ongoing single status.
Someone like Liberty, without wealth, could never fully understand the mindset of the affluent.
“Mom, Dunc!”
Sonny rode his bicycle, calling out to the adults while leaving the pinwheel spinning between the bike handles. He happily reached for the pinwheel but ended up losing his balance when he let go. The bicycle flipped, and he fell onto the ground.

Grass lined the road.

“Sonny.”

A group of people rushed over.

Duncan’s tall frame and long legs helped him sprint ahead of the others.

He quickly scooped Sonny up.

The little boy had taken a hard fall from his bike and was frowning, on the verge of tears when Duncan lifted him.

“Where did you hurt yourself?” Liberty and Serenity asked anxiously as they gathered around him.

Sonny turned and reached out to his mother. As Liberty took him in her arms, he pursed his lips and said, “Mom, I fell.”

“Let me see where you’re hurt,” Liberty replied.

She set her son down, and the sisters bent down to examine Sonny for injuries.

He was unharmed.

The boy had simply enjoyed riding his bike too much and felt embarrassed about his fall, which is why tears filled his eyes.

Duncan held up Sonny’s bicycle, noting that the front wheel and basket were bent from the crash.

“My bicycle is broken,” Sonny cried.

As he managed to hold back the tears, he couldn’t help but wail when he saw the condition of his bike.
