Married at First Sight Chapter 1357

Chapter 1357
Hank said with a serious expression, “Sonny is my son and will always be my son. If Liberty won’t allow me to see him, I can take her to court again to fight for custody.”
Jessica knew she could not let Hank pursue custody of Sonny. She quickly reassured him, “You’re currently an Uber driver without a steady income. We’re about to get married and will be going on our honeymoon afterward, so it wouldn’t be wise for you to fight for custody right now.”
Her intentions were clear; she only wanted to use Sonny without any responsibility for him.
Jessica planned to have more children in the future. If they took Sonny with them, Hank’s affection would be divided between them.
“Liberty closed her store early today to visit her sister. Let’s go to her diner tomorrow and pick up Sonny to try on his suit. Tomorrow works just fine,” she suggested.
Hank replied angrily, “If it weren’t for Liberty, we wouldn’t have lost our jobs. After she took over a share of my property worth over a million dollars, I thought we could quickly recover financially. But shortly after the divorce, we lost our jobs and now can’t find decent ones.”
As a result, he was left with no choice but to drive for Uber.
The small amount of money he was making now was nothing compared to his previous earnings as a manager.
In the past, his monthly income equaled what an average person made in an entire year.
Now…
Hank’s family often blamed his current situation on his divorce from Liberty. They believed he had been promoted to manager with a higher salary and trusted by his boss because of the good fortune Liberty had brought him.
Conversely, they felt Jessica had brought him misfortune. After marrying her, he lost his job and struggled to earn money, relying solely on his savings. Their family had also been thrown into turmoil since her arrival.
Back then, Liberty renovated

They purchased their house with her savings, and she was dedicated to their small family. In contrast, Jessica was hesitant to use her savings, which meant that Hank ended up covering almost all of their family’s expenses. His parents believed he had suffered a significant loss.

However, they were unaware that Serenity and Liberty were the ones behind everything as a means of revenge against him.

“Hank, there’s no point in discussing that now. Liberty’s sister seems to have such a wonderful life. Many women have failed to win over Mr. York, yet she unknowingly became part of the York family. Comparisons are unhelpful,” Jessica remarked, feeling envious.

She shared Hank’s thoughts. If Serenity hadn’t married into wealth and leveraged Mr. York’s influence to oppress and retaliate against her and Hank, they could be enjoying a carefree life right now.

Together, Hank and Jessica’s monthly income could have reached six figures; some people struggled to earn that much in a year. They would certainly have been able to enjoy a good life.

Jessica could have accompanied Hank to various business events, forming connections with elites and company leaders, rather than enduring daily conflicts with her in-laws.

The Browns were obsessed with money. To them, whoever had wealth was the preferred choice. When Liberty had no income, Jessica was seen as the better option. Now that Liberty earned a salary and Jessica did not, the Browns viewed Jessica as a harbinger of bad luck, believing Liberty would bring good fortune to her husband. They continuously pressured Hank to divorce Jessica and remarry Liberty, which only angered Jessica.

“Hank, let’s go,” she said, taking his arm. The couple descended the stairs together and exited Liberty’s rented apartment. “Hank, could you take me back to my mom’s house?”
