Married at First Sight Chapter 1354

Chapter 1354
“I was worried Zachary would think I’m stingy and cheap for not getting Sonny a more expensive bicycle,” Duncan remarked.
He pulled Sonny closer and pointed to the cardboard box, saying, “Sonny, I bought you a small bicycle. Do you like it? Do you want to ride it?”
Sonny recalled seeing other children with bicycles during his evening walks with his mom downstairs. He nodded and replied, “Dunc, I like bicycles.”
Duncan smiled. “Great! I’ll unpack it now and put it together for you. Later, I’ll take you outside to ride it, okay? I also got you a windmill. If we attach it to the front of your bicycle, it will spin as you ride, and it will look fantastic.”
Sonny was filled with anticipation and couldn’t contain his joy.
When Liberty heard Duncan mention that the bicycle cost just over a hundred dollars and that he had mentioned his friendship with Zachary, she decided to stop asking about the price. Instead, she thought about letting him eat at her breakfast store for free for half a month starting tomorrow.
With that, Duncan unpacked the box and helped Sonny assemble the bicycle.
When Serenity came downstairs and saw this, she approached with a smile, asking, “Mr. Lewis, don’t you have to work today?”
At the banquet last night, she noticed how well Duncan and Lily got along. They even danced together at one point, and Mrs. Lewis was beaming with pride. Everyone present understood that Lily was her ideal daughter-in-law.
As a result, Duncan and Lily were naturally viewed as a couple.
Serenity didn’t expect Duncan to come over, especially with her husband not around, and he knew that her sister and Sonny were there.
“I had too much fun last night, so I wanted to rest at home today,” Duncan replied.

reasoning.

“I bought a small bicycle for Sonny. I heard from Zachary that he’s here, so I sent it over,” Duncan explained as he unpacked the bag of tools that had arrived with the bicycle. He examined the tools and the instructions before starting the assembly.

Sonny was thrilled. He occasionally played with the bicycle parts or squatted in front of Duncan to watch him work. By sending Lego bricks to Sonny and showing him how to assemble them, Duncan successfully bonded with him, earning the child’s admiration.

Meanwhile, Hank silently cursed Duncan for being scheming and for using Sonny’s innocence to get closer to Liberty. However, it was clear that Duncan had made a genuine effort to connect with Sonny. Now, whenever he wanted to carry the boy, Sonny was less hesitant than he had been before.

“Liberty, I’m going to eat,” Serenity announced, feeling hungry. After watching for a moment, she addressed her sister and made her way to the dining hall.

Liberty did not join Duncan in assembling the bicycle, as she was not skilled at putting things together. Typically, whenever she bought items requiring assembly, Serenity would take care of it. She followed her sister into the dining area.

“Liberty, let’s eat together,” Serenity suggested.

“No, I’m not hungry yet. Are you having breakfast or lunch now?” Liberty teased her sister.

“I’ll just eat a little to tide me over. I’ll have a proper meal with Zachary when he gets back.” Serenity sent a message to her best friend and, upon learning that Jasmine was still asleep, smiled and added, “Jasmine is worse than I am; she’s still in bed.”

Their bookstore would not be open for business today.

Liberty was about to say something else when her phone rang.

“It’s Hank,” Liberty informed her sister before picking up the call.

Serenity overheard her sister speaking to her ex-brother-in-law. “You want Sonny to be your flower boy? Are you picking him up now to try on his suit?”
