Married at First Sight Chapter 1332

Chapter 1332
Mrs. Marshall found Serenity’s voice to be quite pleasant. She took Serenity’s hand in a friendly gesture and offered her a compliment.
Serenity accepted everyone’s praises with grace, much to the disappointment of those hoping to see her embarrass herself.
Some attendees remarked on Mrs. Stone’s impressive teaching abilities. Despite only attending a few banquets with Mrs. Stone, Serenity had transformed from a country bumpkin into a poised lady of a wealthy family.
The York family of four proceeded to meet Old Mr. Marshall.
After observing Serenity for a while, Old Mr. Marshall remained silent. However, he presented her with a generous gift in front of everyone and remarked to Zachary, “You two must live happily together. Your nana has good judgment.”
Zachary was gentle towards Old Mr. Marshall. “Thank you, Old Mr. Marshall. I will cherish and love Seren deeply.”
Old Mr. Marshall smiled warmly. He was significantly older than Old Mrs. York, and his vitality was no match for hers.
He typically interacted only with younger individuals of higher status, like Zachary, as ordinary people would not dare to approach him.
Guests from affluent families began to arrive gradually.
Mrs. Stone and her husband arrived a bit later with their daughter, though Clive and his wife were not present.
Alice was pregnant and suffering from severe morning sickness. With many guests at the banquet, there were concerns about someone accidentally bumping into her. Consequently, Clive strongly opposed her attending, opting to stay home to care for her instead.
The Stone family’s second son was not involved in business, so he never participated in any corporate events.
Thus, only Mr. and Mrs. Stone came with Elisa.
They also went to greet Old Mr. Marshall.
Not seeing Clive and his wife, Old Mr. Marshall inquired of Mrs. Stone, “Where are they?”

“Is Clive and Alice here?”

Mrs. Stone smiled and replied, “Alice is pregnant, so it’s inconvenient for her to come. Clive is staying home with her. He asked me to convey his apologies for not being here tonight.”

Old Mr. Marshall chuckled. “They’re all young ones I’ve watched grow up. I can’t be upset about their absence due to personal matters. Alice’s pregnancy is wonderful news. It’s probably best she doesn’t come; there are too many people here, and it wouldn’t be good if someone accidentally bumped into her.”

“You must invite me to the baby’s sip and see shower next year.”

Joy sparkled in the Marshalls’ eyes at Old Mr. Marshall’s words. They believed that as long as he focused on the Stone family’s celebration, he would likely have several more years ahead of him.

Mrs. Stone replied with a smile, “Of course! You must come to my house for a glass of celebratory wine to bless my grandchild. You are the one with the greatest fortune.”

Tania had learned from Mrs. Marshall that Old Mr. Marshall had been unwell lately. He often reminisced about his late spouse, who had passed away many years ago. His family worried that his time might be drawing near, especially since he had moved his banquet up by six months.

It was concerning.

Tania joined the conversation after hearing Old Mr. Marshall mention the sip and see. Intentionally adopting a teasing tone, she said to him, “You’re only thinking about attending Clive’s child’s sip and see. Don’t you want to come to my granddaughter’s celebration as well?”

Old Mr. Marshall laughed and gently admonished Tania, “So you’re complaining about me, huh? I’ll attend all of them. If you have a granddaughter, I will certainly go to her sip and see.”

“Just you wait. I will definitely have a granddaughter.”

“I have three sons, which means I’ll eventually have three daughters-in-law. One of them should be able to give me a granddaughter.” Everyone laughed.

If Old Mr. Marshall hoped to celebrate the arrival of Tania’s granddaughter, that dream would likely remain unfulfilled, even if he lived a long life.

Who didn’t know that the Yorks were like a family of monks? They had only sons and no daughters. Families without sons envied the Yorks’ ability to have boys, yet they were unaware of the Yorks’ deep yearning for a daughter.

This is human nature: those with sons often wish for daughters, while those with daughters desire sons. Everyone wants the best of both worlds.
