Married at First Sight Chapter 1301

Chapter 1301
“Sure.”
To please her sister’s taste buds, Liberty prepared pasta with bacon bits. She added basil to her sister’s plate, but Serenity didn’t want any of it.
“The food is ready.”
Liberty called her sister to come and get her plate.
Serenity paused her work to wash her hands before serving herself.
Once seated at the table, Serenity pulled out her phone and began scrolling through the news while eating.
“No phones during meals. Put your phone away.”
Liberty enforced rules for mealtime.
“I was just looking.”
Despite Serenity’s protest, she slipped her phone back into her pocket.
“I don’t want to see you on your phone while we’re at the dining table anymore.”
“Got it.”
Serenity knew she could never defy her sister. Besides, using screens during meals was a bad habit.
“Are you really not coming with me to the event tonight, Liberty?”
“Nope.”
“I think you should broaden your horizons, Liberty.”
Liberty savored her pasta, as it was freshly cooked and still a bit hot.
“I don’t need to broaden my horizons. At least, not yet. You’re different. You’re part of the York family now and need to fit into their circle.”
Serenity decided to give up, realizing that no amount of persuasion would change her sister’s mind.
Liberty had already declined Aunt Audrey’s invitation to join as a plus-one.
“When are you getting your car?”
Liberty purchased a car for under a hundred thousand dollars yesterday. Elisa suggested she choose something of better value, but Liberty disagreed.
She opted for a compact MPV.
“In a few days.”
“Okay.”
While the sisters chatted over breakfast, Duncan arrived at the diner.
It was surprising that he arrived even before Liberty’s workers, who followed closely behind him.
“You’re early, Mr. Lewis,” Liberty remarked.
Setting down her cutlery, she got up and approached Duncan with a smile. “Are you not taking the day off today, Mr. Lewis? What would you like?”
Noticing Serenity nearby, Duncan nodded at her and glanced at Liberty’s half-finished pasta. “I can wait for you to finish your breakfast. I’m off today, just the usual for me.”
Nonetheless, Liberty continued to prepare food for him.
Duncan took a seat at the table next to Serenity’s and initiated conversation. “I see Zachary isn’t with you.”
“He rarely gets a day off, so he should be sleeping in,” Serenity replied, convinced that Duncan was simply being predictable by coming to her sister’s diner even on his day off. However, Duncan remained in denial.
“Do you always have breakfast at my sister’s when you don’t need to go to the office?”
Duncan answered, “It’s hard to break a routine.”
Serenity opened her mouth, but no words came out.
“Is Sonny still sleeping?”
Duncan shifted his focus to Sonny.
“Yeah, he’s still asleep,” she confirmed.
Duncan fell silent.
