turned out to be a failure. Serenity discovered their plan, and Zachary thwarted it. Harriet, who underwent surgery, altered her face to resemble that of another cousin. The cousin’s husband mistook Harriet for his wife, resulting in a commotion. Since then, Harriet and the cousin had turned against each other. Now, Harriet needed to undergo another plastic surgery.
In any case, the Hunts proved to be ineffective. They caused more harm than good.
“I’ll provide the police with information about these individuals tomorrow. The authorities will take care of the arrests. However, these people are cunning; I doubt they can all be captured at once. Just watch your backs for now, Mr. York.”
Julian withheld the documents from Zachary for safety reasons. It was time to hand the case over to the police, as these individuals were formerly associated with a crime lord, and their records were far from clean.
“Thank you, Julian. We’ll be cautious,” Zachary replied, expressing his gratitude.
Julian smiled and reassured him, “Don’t worry too much. I won’t let anything happen to you. They may try again in the coming days, likely during the upcoming holiday when crowds will provide them with the perfect cover to strike and flee.”
“Just continue with your plans. They may be watching you, but I have people keeping an eye on them too.”
Julian’s words provided Zachary with reassurance, and he expressed his appreciation to Julian multiple times.
“It’s not like we just met, Mr. York. No need to mention it. You and Josh are best friends, which makes you my friend too.”
Josh chimed in with enthusiasm, “You should thank me, Zachary. I asked my cousin to help you.”
“Thank you,” Zachary replied to Josh.
He grinned. “Is that all? Can’t you offer me something more? How about an extra month off for my marital leave?”
Zachary replied, “Aren’t two months sufficient? Are you really considering quitting your job just because you’re getting married?”
“It’s only two months. Make it three. I’d even be happy with two and a half months.”
Zachary looked at him in resignation.
