Married at First Sight Chapter 1291

Chapter 1291
“Are you here to take Ms. Newman home for dinner? Is there something you need to discuss with her? If so, I don’t want to intrude on your mother-daughter time,” Callum gently inquired, pretending to be unaware of Camryn’s position within the family.
For once, Mrs. Newman was not here to confront Camryn.
She had come to inform Camryn about Old Mr. Marshall’s business engagement at the Wiltspoon Hotel tomorrow night, and Camryn was expected to accompany her. Of course, Camryn was not there to replace Carrie.
Mrs. Newman simply wanted to introduce Camryn to an elderly CEO who could potentially assist the Newman family business.
Even though Camryn was blind, she was more beautiful than Carrie. Her soft and calming voice was pleasant to listen to, and Mrs. Newman was confident that the old CEO would be enchanted by Camryn’s charm.
“You’re not a bother at all. I just need to have a brief conversation with Camryn before I leave,” Mrs. Newman maintained a friendly demeanor in Callum’s presence.
She turned to Camryn and said, “Don’t open your shop for business tomorrow afternoon, or have an employee watch it. Come home early tomorrow. I’ll do your makeup, and you can wear an evening gown. Join me for an event tomorrow.”
Before Camryn could respond, Callum interjected with a smile, “Are you referring to Old Mr. Marshall’s event?”
“Yes. You must be attending Old Mr. Marshall’s event as well. We would love to receive an invitation.” Since the Newmans became billionaires, Mrs. Newman had eagerly sought opportunities to engage in social events.
She believed she had successfully integrated into the true upper crust.
Mrs. Newman wanted to take her younger daughter along so that everyone would recognize how exceptional Carrie was.
Although the ultimate goal was for Carrie to marry into the York family,

Mrs. Newman was determined not to put all her eggs in one basket. The heirs of the York family were challenging to manage. Her daughter Carrie might struggle to find a suitable husband from that family. Fortunately, there were many wealthy men in Wiltspoon. Mrs. Newman planned to take her daughter to various parties to seek out a good match. Naturally, those families would also be evaluating her beloved daughter.

There were two sides to every situation. While the Newman family was assessing potential husbands, the other families were doing the same.

Callum smiled and said, “The party will be held at my family’s hotel, and my brothers and cousins will be there too.”

Mrs. Newman replied, “Tomorrow night is bound to be the biggest event in Wiltspoon.”

It was unfortunate that her precious daughter could not attend.

Old Mr. Marshall rarely organized a ball this early in the year; however, he had moved the date up by six months. It was unclear whether this change was due to his advancing age or declining health.

Mrs. Newman felt furious with Serenity at the thought of her daughter missing out on tomorrow’s event. She also placed the blame on her older daughter.

“Did you understand what I just told you, Camryn?” Mrs. Newman asked.

While holding flowers for an employee to bundle for Callum, Camryn replied, “I’m not going.”

She believed she would only embarrass herself in such a social setting due to her blindness. Moreover, her mother had never taken her to social gatherings before. Now that Mrs. Newman wanted to bring Camryn out of the house, it seemed she had ulterior motives.

Although Camryn hadn’t received any updates about Carrie from her mother, she was aware that her stepfather and mother were trying to get Carrie released from jail. Camryn dared not think about the lengths they might go to in order to save her.

Carrie.

Despite this, Camryn sensed that her mother intended to take her to the event for the purpose of showcasing her. Mrs. Newman grimaced. She believed she was giving the “mole rat” an opportunity by bringing her to a social gathering, yet this “mole rat” seemed unappreciative. With Callum still present, Mrs. Newman restrained herself from lashing out at Camryn. She softened her tone. “Camryn, you heard my conversation with Callum. The party tomorrow night is significant; it’s the largest business event in Wiltspoon. The attendees are the key players in this town.

“You spend all your time cooped up in the flower shop. You need to get out and make connections. How can you continue living in your own little bubble? I’m taking you to see the world.”
