Married at First Sight Chapter 1288

Chapter 1288
Despite Callum bringing Camryn two business deals and generating revenue, she couldn’t possibly spend all the profits on treating him to dinner.
“Alright. You can choose the restaurant since it’s your treat. I’d be happy if you wanted to cook for me, too.”
Callum didn’t mind where they ate as long as his fiancée was treating him.
If Camryn could read his thoughts, she would question his assumption about her being his fiancée.
In turn, Callum would argue that since his grandmother designated her as a candidate for his spouse, she was indeed his fiancée.
“I can’t see, Mr. Callum. I can’t cook,” Camryn gently reminded him of her blindness.
While she could navigate a familiar environment with ease, cooking was a different challenge altogether.
Camryn would gladly prepare her own meals if she had her sight.
Though a member of the Newman family, she had always been self-sufficient.
Callum’s smile faded as he remembered that she couldn’t see. How could she possibly cook?
He realized he might never get to enjoy his wife’s cooking if she remained blind after their wedding. Unfortunately, he would miss out on the joy that Zachary experienced.
On second thought, Callum could take over the cooking himself.
“I heard about a renowned doctor known as the miracle healer. Perhaps he can help restore your eyesight.”
Callum added, “Even if we can’t find the old doctor, we might still see results from his student.”
He hadn’t asked Remy if he could reach out to the miracle healer or his pupil.
Callum knew he hadn’t yet gained Camryn’s complete trust.
There was no way she would view him as a good person simply because he introduced her to some business opportunities. Camryn had built walls around herself. Although she was gentle, she kept her distance from others, refusing to let anyone into her world.
“I understand. My aunt informed me. The miracle healer is my last hope for regaining my sight, but he only exists in whispers. Who knows if the miracle healer is even alive? The doctor and his student have vanished.”
Initially, Camryn was anxious and eager to restore her vision, but now she felt indifferent. It would be wonderful to see again, but she had learned to navigate life in darkness.
If the doctor who had once brought light back into her world were still alive, her sight might be restored. Unfortunately, the renowned ophthalmologist had passed away. She could make out some shades of light, but everything else remained a blur. In many ways, she felt no different from a blind person.
Camryn’s aunt placed all her hopes on the miracle healer.
After a long silence, Callum remarked, “That’s true. Few in our generation even know about the miracle healer, let alone his whereabouts.”
Callum had sent a text to his grandmother, but Grandma May told him he was on his own and that with faith, God would lead him to the miracle healer.
Grandma May was reluctant to get involved in this matter.
In his mind, Callum lamented her irresponsibility. She had pushed a potential wife onto him and then distanced herself from the situation by flying to Jensburg with Kevin.
He wondered if Kevin had made any progress with Hayden.
Considering Kevin’s aversion to Hayden, it was likely he hadn’t even attempted to make the first move. How was Nana supposed to fix that?
With his grandmother’s tactics in mind, Callum preferred to approach Camryn himself rather than be ensnared in Nana’s setup.
“I’ll leave it to God.”
Camryn was aware of the true cause of her blindness.
She had been poisoned for an extended period, and one day the dosage was drastically increased, overwhelming her body. Camryn had nearly met her end that day. Although the doctors revived her, she had lost her sight.

Ten years ago, her aunt filed a police report, but the investigation yielded no results. To resolve the situation, her stepfather dismissed all the servants from that time.
