Married at First Sight Chapter 1287

Chapter 1287

Jessica wore a long face.

After a while, she turned on her heel and walked out.

“Mrs. Brown.”

With Serenity calling after her, Jessica paused and looked back, eager to hear about Liberty’s whereabouts.

Serenity maintained a cordial tone and reminded her, “The bruises on your face are quite noticeable. You might want to do something about them. I heard your wedding to Mr. Brown is coming up, and those black and blue marks would clash with your wedding theme.”

Jessica’s expression darkened as her wrinkles deepened with a grimace.

Without responding, she tilted her head back and strutted out of the shop, chest puffed out.

It was as if she believed that this display could prove her life was perfect.

A delivery person arrived.

Jasmine had ordered milkshakes for the shop.

She took the milkshakes and handed a cup to her best friend. Gloating, Jasmine remarked, “The Browns must be mistreating her. I always thought she was superior, and that her mother-in-law and sister-in-law were beneath her.”

Sipping her milkshake, Serenity replied, “She has an entire family against her. That’s a tough situation to overcome.”

“Domestic violence either happens or it doesn’t. Now that she’s lost her first physical confrontation with the Browns, things will only worsen for her unless she and Hank get a divorce.”

Serenity felt no sympathy for Jessica.

In fact, she wished Jessica the worst luck imaginable.

Jessica was already facing abuse before the wedding even took place.

It was clear that her situation would only deteriorate.

“Liberty fought back when she was attacked at home. She chased after Hank with a knife, scaring the Brown family. Despite their usual cruelty, none of them ever dared to lay a hand on Liberty again.”

The Brown family preyed on the weak.

“I thought the Brown family had changed for the better when…

“They came to say thank you,” Jasmine remarked, enjoying a mouthful of her milkshake. “I guess a leopard can’t change its spots.”

“Who cares what they do? Jessica wanted the man, so now she has to live with the consequences. She deserves it!” Serenity chimed in with a smile. “I should thank her. It wouldn’t be so easy for my sister to escape hell and gain custody of Sonny if it weren’t for her.”

Jasmine added, “I bet Hank and Jessica will be jealous when your sister finds a better man.” Serenity simply grinned, choosing not to continue the conversation. Marriage was not on the horizon for Liberty at the moment.

Meanwhile, Callum leaned against the cash register at Spring Blossoms, locking eyes with Camryn. “How did it go? The business opportunity must have been quite profitable,” he inquired.

Following the Marshall family’s directives, the Wiltspoon Hotel had ordered a substantial amount of flowers from Spring Blossoms for their event.

Instead of discussing the profits, Camryn replied, “I’ll buy you dinner tonight.”

“But not at Wiltspoon Hotel. It’s too expensive there.” The last time she treated him, the bill totaled several hundred dollars, which was a significant amount for a small business owner like her. That money could have covered her employees’ wages and expenses for three days.

Considering she hadn’t brought much cash that evening, Callum refrained from ordering anything extravagant, resulting in a bill of just a few hundred dollars. If he had chosen more costly dishes, Camryn would have ended up spending even more.
